Chatham/Gillingham (Victory Pier) hotel

Okay - food and drink was average and charging for the car park was disappointing. General condition of the hotel was tired.

I stay at Premier Inn regularly and this is the nicest one I stay in. The room is comfortable, warm and well equipped. The best thing though is the staff, EVERYONE is a delight, friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. They are a credit to your company. Special mention must go to Sarah who is an absolute star, it was like having a best friend looking after us. Thank you!

The staff we met were very welcoming. The only issue was, as we were two friends travelling together in one room, we wanted a twin room. I booked a family room with a double and a sofa bed. When we arrived I was told that I should have specifically asked for two separate beds. It’s difficult to actually speak to a human when booking and would have thought that a sofa bed and a double were separate beds. Anyway, the staff sorted this out pretty swiftly. There is plentiful car parking, the room was a good size and with everything we needed. The room was clean and had a bath, which I enjoyed. The hotel is good value for money and our room at the front of the hotel was quiet, rooms at the back might be noisier as they faced the road. A particular mention to Phoebe in the restaurant who looked after us on Saturday night.

we stayed at this Premier Inn (Victory Pier) for 2 nights recently and have to say overall it was a really good choice, we have stayed in a different hotel chain in the past nearer the Dockside outlet centre and were very disappointed so this time we thought we would try a Premier Inn as other stays at Gatwick airport have always been good. I will start by saying the rooms themselves or at least ours was very tired looking and furniture damaged and had some form of sticky tape all along the edge of the desk/dressing table area. It was very clean though and the bed was comfortable and it also had a very nice walk in shower, a mention here to Sarah as she was very helpful when we requested a move from the original room as the bath was too high for my wife who has arthritic knees! Sarah was very pleasant and totally understood where we were coming from and luckily there was a room available with a walk in shower so she handled this with courtesy and respect. All the staff we came into contact with were very pleasant we had a laugh with the chambermaid about one of the lifts being out of order and the other lift was very temperamental to say the least and she obviously had to go up and down a lot yet was still smiling! A special mention has to go to Zijian (Steven) as this young man never stopped, he was covering reception and helped us check in when we arrived, always very approachable and as soon as he saw you arrive he would attend to you or get to you as soon as he was free from dealing with another guest. He served in the Restaurant both taking orders for food and drink and serving them to your table, and also clearing the tables. He was very polite and well mannered and really is an Asset to this hotel and as such is a great Ambassador for the Premier Inn Brand. The Breakfast was really nice there was everything you could want and it really set us up for the day, the evening meals we had were not great to be honest but others seemed to be enjoying them so it could just have been personal tastes, it wouldn't stop us staying here again and didnt spoil the overall enjoyment of our stay. On our visit the other guests at Breakfast were very nice and it had a nice atmosphere in the Restaurant also no rowdiness of an Evening, the hotel itself was lovely and quiet.

I just wanted to say, you have a great team here. I was away for business and had the pleasure of meeting a member of staff. A young Japanese man, he worked extremely well and was always on the ball. He was incredible respect, especially with elder quests. I made sure that I told him how well I thought he worked and he gave me a card to make a review. 10/10.
