    "Views good but no parking"
It would have been a 4 out of 5 due to there being no parking as views from the sea view rooms were extremely good and couldn’t fault anything. However on last full day there i needed towels changing so gave my room number to reception about 8.30 for room to be cleaned as had to do before 12. On returning to my room about 5pm this hadn’t been done and cleaning staff had finished. Breakfast really good next door in the bar.
"Felt a bit ‘local’ and too nosey for a Premier Inn"
I stay in maybe 20 Premier Inns a year and don’t really bother to review them because they’re usually all the same. Pretty much. I like the anonymity and the uniform customer service. I wasn’t a fan of this one though. It wasn’t as friendly at check-in, even though it was off-season I was given a really awful room facing a ratty alleyway. But the strangest aspect was that this just seemed to have a really nosey attitude from staff. Every time upon entering there was a feeling that all heads swung towards the automatic door, the room key was needed just to move around the ground floor communal areas and there was a feeling that the staff were half expecting some kind of invasion, or undesirables entering their realm. I was traveling alone, but still just picked up a nosey attitude from staff as I came and went during the day - that I’ve never had at any other Premier Inn. Also, as mentioned, sea view rooms should be prioritised if the hotel is nowhere near full. WiFi is terrible, as was phone signal in my dark dingey room. Didn’t have the food as there are better options in the area.
    "Became unwell"
The room was good, well maintained. Could not open window and had to rely on Aircon. Went home a day early with suspected legonellas. Aircon unit dried up the air and effected my asthma. Need natural air flow.
    "An enjoyable stay"
This was our 3rd visit to this particular hotel & we had a lovely stay. Staff were polite, friendly & helpful. The only issue we had was that the WiFi was poor & I couldn't get a 4G signal on my phone until I walked outside the hotel. However, that didn't detract from enjoying our stay here. We are already thinking about another visit in December.
"AVOID this hotel at all COST !!!"
⭐ 1/5 – Avoid This Hotel at All Costs! We booked a short family break at Premier Inn Sandown and it turned out to be one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Early check-in: We arrived around 1:30pm and were charged £15 for early check-in, despite arriving only about an hour early. For the extra money, we expected at least a clean room — instead, the room was filthy. Room condition: The floor was covered in crumbs and sand, the bathroom floor was wet, tables were stained, and there were coffee stains on the bedside table. The bed had visible stains, the base was ripping apart, and the furniture was in terrible condition. There was dust everywhere, handprints on the door, and the room had no privacy curtains like other rooms. I have photos to prove this. Staff & service: I complained immediately, but instead of moving us to another room, I was told a cleaner would come — no apology given. Later, the night staff offered to move us after dinner, but the other room wasn’t cleaned either, so we had to stay put. Staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and often on their phones instead of assisting guests. Completely unprofessional. My son’s asthma flared up badly because of the dust in the carpets, which made the stay even more stressful. Housekeeping: Housekeeping was poor throughout. Beds were made, but the floor was never properly hoovered. When I asked about it, I was told they “don’t hoover every day, only when needed,” which is shocking in a seaside hotel where guests bring in sand and dust. Even after specifically requesting hoovering, the floor was left dirty. Breakfast: The breakfast was another disappointment. Food was messy across the counters, and I personally witnessed a chef drop a fried egg onto the surface and pick it up with bare hands, then put it back on the tray instead of throwing it away. This was completely unhygienic and made me lose my appetite. Since breakfast was prepaid, no refund was offered even though we couldn’t eat it. Overall: From day one, the experience was unacceptable. The rooms look nothing like the photos advertised, the furniture is old and dirty, and the staff showed no care or professionalism. I’ve stayed at other Premier Inns before and never had an issue, but this location was appalling. What was meant to be a special mini-holiday for my daughter before starting high school was completely ruined. The only positive is the location near the beach, but that does not make up for the lack of cleanliness, poor service, and unsafe hygiene standards. Premier Inn needs to seriously investigate this hotel, as it is taking people’s money without delivering the most basic level of service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
