"Very basic - a disappointment after previous visits."
Location - lovely. We have been to this hotel several times as the location is perfect for us.
Atmosphere - dead. The staff were pleasant on the odd occasion we saw them, but there was nothing to make you think - wow, this is a really happy place or even that you were particularly welcome.
The rooms - looking tired, the hotel has been open for about 5 years and it is showing as such. Big drawback is the fact that you can have a seaview window room, which we did, but you cannot open it at all so no fresh air can come in. Otherwise, typical Premier Inn room.
Value - it's a budget hotel, but it is always a little more costly than Travelodge, which is probably its closest competitor. If there was a choice of the 2 at this location it would have been no reason to pay the extra because the edge Premier Inn usually have over Travelodge, being 'just that bit better' is lacking in this particular hotel.
The room was okay, provided you didn't look too closely at skirting boards or floor. The bathroom/toilet were clean at any rate.
Noise level - This was the best thing about the hotel. Despite being on the Esplanade with a road immediately outside, and a beach directly across the road, it was a quiet place.
Service - this is the first time in all of our visits we have needed to use this, but it was very slow. Our remote was broken and needed replacing which took the chap 40 minutes to bring to the room. (He wouldn't just give it across the desk, he had to bring it up). The additional pillow, which was requested at the same time, was forgotten, and took a further 45 minutes to appear. We were only on the first floor!
Amenities - there is no longer a Meal Deal available at this hotel, which is a shame as the menu in the restaurant is not particularly inspiring and expensive for what it is. The breakfast was of a poorer quality than previous visits, but other than that just what you would expect.
We probably will go back as we like the location and it is a hotel which does not take in coaching parties, but if we lived off of the Island and had to pay a ferry crossing to go to this hotel it would not be a recommendation. The fact that there is very little option available to eat in the town and that there is poor selection on the menu in the restaurant attached would be a deterrent.

"Very helpful and knowledgeable staff"
I had an excellent member of staff called Waqar who helped me with lots of local knowledge and information for my weekend away with my son. He was friendly and polite. The location was great with sea view in the mornings. The room was tidy and was good size for us. The breakfast was slightly lower on quantity of items available.
Overall a great weekend stay.

"Premier inn Sandown"
Arrived and was met at check in by Waqar. He was very helpful. Had a slight issue with the cleanliness of the room.
Waqar was exceptionally helpful, he showed us 2 other possible rooms and did everything to ensure that we were satisfied. Had a chat with him.about cricket and he spoke to my daughter about cricket. A real credit to the Premier Inn.
The hotel is a great location with lovely sea views. Sandown itself is a random place, a bit of a mixed bag with some derelict buildings. Although the beach is nice and there's a lovely restaurant called Reef just along from
the hotel.

"Good Night Guarantee - Not very accurate!"
Stayed here for two nights (family, spread over 2 rooms). On the second night the fire alarm went off just before 6am and the hotel was evacuated so we were all made to wait on the beach. When we went back in the lady told us to contact customer relations as it would be covered under the good night guarantee as it was a false alarm. We did this the following day on their Watsapp and was told someone would get back to us in 5 days. I contacted them after 5 days on the same chat, as advised by the original person if I had not heard back to which I had a response saying the chat had ended. Had to go through the entire thing again to be told that the other person had sent a message but unfortunately it had not sent! They would not be honouring the Good Night Guarantee as fire alarms were not included in their reasons. (Even though we had been told by the staff that if it was a false alarm, then they would be).
The staff were all nice and the hotel was sufficient but the good nights guarantee is anything but!
