"Enjoyable stay"
Generally good experience. Room was clean and comfortable and air conditioning was a bonus. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Only downsides are limited parking options and the adjoining restaurant which isn't the best.

"Great location but shame about the service!"
I'll start with the positive...the location of the hotel is excellent! You're right on the seafront, close the pier and close to local transport links. You're close to the shops and restaurants and not far from Yaverland for any keen fossil hunters.
The hotel is tired and showing it's age but on arrival it seemed clean and the staff seemed pleasant. One particular staff member, Oliver, stood out and was particulrarly helpful when we encountered problems later on in our stay.
We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and it is made clear with signage that the rooms are not routinely services but if you would like your room to be cleaned then to inform the front desk by midday -this is where we encountered issues!
On the third morning I requested for the room to be cleaned and was told it probably wouldn't be until after 2pm which wasn't an issue for us but upon returning about 5pm, it still hadn't been done and I was told that we hadn't been on the list anyway. I was then given clean towels to take up and assured we would be on the list for the next day. The following morning, on departure, I double checked we were on the list and assured that we were but agan, on return nothing had happened! By this point the bin was overflowing and we had no toilet paper! We were given a bag so we could sort the bin out and someone came to refil the toilet paper. We were told that this is sadly a regular occurance and were advised to make a complaint on our return home.
A complaint was made the following day, however, the response we recieved was basically that the hotel manager can neither confirm or deny that this happened...so useful!!!
So overall, great location and if you're only there for a night or maybe 2 then it's basic but fine - any longer and I definitely wouldn't bother - especially if you have kids! Such a shame.

"Basic stay for 2 nights - used this hotel many times."
The room was a typical Premier Inn room. You got the basics and it was clean and fairly comfortable. The bed needed a new mattress - it had a dent which meant you rolled to the middle.
The check-in was drawn out and nobody seemed to know what they were doing - we had to remind them that you had to book a breakfast time, and then request the codes for the pre-paid wifi premier (which it isn't!).
We have been going to this hotel since 2021, usually several times a year, and have watched it slowly deteriorate.
The breakfast - well, supermarket cheapest seems to cover the quality, and as they no longer do the Meal Deal here and the restaurant menu did not inspire us, we are unable to comment on evening meal. It is certainly not as good as it used to be when Whitbread owned the hotel and the restaurant together. Would advise any visitor to eat at the local cafes around, and would do so ourselves again if we revisit.
Location is great if you like lounging on the beach (which we do) but otherwise not a great deal in Sandown these days. Local bus routes are nearby if you don't have a car, and probably work out cheaper than trying to park on the Island - if you find a parking space.
It suited us, we knew what we were going to and the area, have been to the hotel before so there were no parking issues either. Would recommend looking around for the prices charged though as many hotels have offers on and a lot have free parking too.
The staff - well everyone has to learn their role, but generally they do have somebody overseeing and advising them rather than being left to flounder with a customer who wanted a better deal than he had paid for. Training would improve service, but then so would additional staff being available. They did the best they could, I feel, under the circumstances, but it certainly could have been a lot better.
If you are going to this hotel, book a room with a sea view as otherwise the hotel overlooks some Victorian backyards of shabby shops.
Noise - the windows don't open an inch here. So it is quiet, but the lack of fresh air is not so good.
Best advice - don't book at this hotel, try Merrie Gardens. Not on the seafront but everything else is available.

"Great hotel in a great location."
The hotel maintains excellent standards and all the staff encountered were extremely friendly. Parking can be a bit challenging, but there are car parks nearby.

"Best UK summer holiday EVER!"
We stayed at the beautiful Premier Inn Isle Of Wight (Seafront of Sandown Beach) and it was the most pleasant stay we’ve had. We stayed for a week in 2 rooms as a family of 5 and they were clean and tidy all the time. The value was great too, the breakfast was brilliant, a full English cooked for you and unlimited and the kids eat free what more could you ask for. Sheer perfection. The service was brilliant. Every member of staff we encountered was professional, polite, kind, caring and funny too. Honestly this was the best holiday in the UK by far I have to say. I will definitely be returning again for more summer holidays and make unforgettable memories. We also got to ride the water bikes which was a bonus, the prices are great, the pier is just magnificent!!! Xxx
