Isle of Wight Sandown (Seafront) hotel

Visited the Isle of Wight as a family and chose to stay here at the Premier inn Isle of Wight Sandown for my dads 70th birthday in June. The location is great as it is beach front and there are car parks available a short walk away which cost me £70 for 7 nights by purchasing a pass. I do recommend that you drop the luggage off before you park as it can be difficult to walk there with a lot of luggage. The atmosphere is ok, lovely beach front, some good places to eat. The rooms were average for a Premier inn, we appreciated the air con in the rooms as the week we visited was a heatwave. The check in process was with Waqar, who was very professional, friendly, warm and welcoming. A special thank you to Waqar for making my stay with my parents so lovely. Waqar went above and beyond especially when there had been a mistake with the room bookings. I had called a few times before our stay to request interconnecting rooms for me and my parents, I had also discussed my dads 70th birthday and asked if they could do something small as a gesture. I was informed a few times they could but they didnt. Customer service is very important to us as a family and we all were very impressed with Waqars hospitality. Other staff that stood out to us were Maddie from the restaurant who was really friendly and welcoming, Emma who was part of the housekeeping team very friendly and helpful, Imogen, Dawn and Leanne who really took care of us and my dad who needed his insulin stored in the fridge. Thank you to those mentioned for your kindness and professionalism. One thing to note we ate at the restaurant the first night of our stay and unfortunately we were underwhelmed and disappointed with the food. It was genuinely some of the worst food we have ever eaten. Despite this we tried the breakfast the next morning and unfortunately we were all very disappointed with the quality of the breakfast and the service. We usually have a really good experience with premier inn breakfasts but this was by far the worst breakfast experience we have ever had. The quality of the food was shocking, the food was also cold and there appeared to be very stern looks from the staff, we did not feel welcome at all and the experience really put us off. We didnt eat in the restaurant again so I would avoid the restaurant completely. Overall, some lovely staff, beach front so good location and some good places to eat nearby. Would we stay here again? No, we would prefer to rent an Air bnb and drive.

Unable to access prepaid WiFi in the room we were allocated and no 5G signal so unable to carry out necessary work from that room, had to go outside to my car to do work on 5G

Possibly the best Premier Inn we have ever stayed at. After a 25km walk we were welcomed by the very well located hotel, and given a great arrival by Waqar, who was an absolute gem. He upgraded our room for free to a seaview room, and even left us a lovely little note, which we really appreciated. The room was huge and very spacious, and it had amazing views, really pretty to see the sea even in the rain. The TV didn’t have the best selection of channels, but it worked well and the WiFi was probably the best I’ve seen in any premier inn. We slept very well, and the brekkie was of high quality and well stocked up. Overall, we would happily stay here again!

We stayed in a family room with a sea view around the bank holiday weekend. It was a good price, and the breakfast was very well done. We also ate in the restaurant pub in the evening, which the kids particularly enjoyed. It's a good Premier Inn, in a good location. Wifi was a bit slow, but we only used the free one, and there's no parking.

The receptionist Wagar was outstandingly helpful and really made the stay. Otherwise a nice clean modern Premier Inn on a great seafront location.
