"Do yourself a favor, find somewhere else to stay"
Do yourself a favor, find somewhere else to stay: Room: We stayed in a Premier Plus room at this hotel, it was just a normal Premier Inn room with a, coffee machine and a fridge, also a picture on the wall, the highlight of this room was the bed very good and little noise. The room had the minimum amount of cleaning that could be done, with debris on the floors and black mold in the bathroom, heavy dust and generally not clean, it also included a heavy scaled kettle. Breakfast: We paid in advance for continental breakfast at this hotel, my advice don't waste your cash, we where disappointed to find most items were not available during our stay, no granola, no oranges, no bananas, no fresh fruit salad, no fruit compote, no yogurts, one day we were informed coming into breakfast by the member of staff on duty, that the continental was limited, they stated just help yourself to cooked breakfast, which I do not eat. We had to go out to Costa Coffee as there was nothing in the continental range of breakfast at this hotel on this day. Staff: Some of there team were poor, rather than being helpful, I found they were not bothered when we raised problems. The Hotel: We encountered dirty surfaces in the dining room, with items sticking to the tables. Common areas where neglected, lifts where dirty. As you arrive at the hotel the front is littered with cigarette butts as this is where the smoking area is. On our floor the stench was quite bad before going into your room, there was no housekeeping at all in this area for the whole six nights we stayed. My View: My experience at Premier Inn Portsmouth City Center was poor. This hotel needs a full refit, and I hope that the Management address these issues, my advice stay somewhere else.
"Clean and comfortable"
Clean comfortable room, easy check in only downside was how hot it was, no window to open and air-conditioning either wasn't working or wasn't good
"Best hotel in Portsmouth"
We stayed for one night in premier inn with my family it’s was a wonderful experience in hotel we stayed and especially I don’t know the name night team who worked on 14-06-2025 was very helpful.
"Very poor experience"
I booked a double room with an addition one for.my child, got to the room to find the bed missing. Unable to source another room for my child which wasn't ideal after a 3 hr drive. Had booked a room next door which were about the accommodate. Got offered a room on a completely different floor, which would have left my disabled parent on her own with my child. Windows have had handles removed and cant be opened, our one was stuffy and had noisey air conditioning. No refund offered by reception, referred to customer service who offer £32 pound for a booking 3 x that amount. Won't stay with premiere inn again
"Terrible hotel for families"
Absolutely disgusting, check in was slow and it took an hour after check in time to get a room. The first room was a double converted to a family room with broken electrical key entry and flickering lights. Also dirty. I was treated an inconvenience when I asked to be moved and initially lied too being told the hotel was fully booked. After I asked again was anything else available a second family room was found. Now two hours after check in we were shown to a larger room with drawn curtains and asked if this was ‘good enough’ member of staff left the room with opened the curtains and the room was disgraceful. Mould, hair in the floors heavy staining to headboards carpets and curtains. Flies trapped between the windows glazing and bathroom full of damp the bath side was peeling. Kettle full of scale and cups dirty and this point we decided to end our trip and drive back from Portsmouth to Gloucestershire. Two small people who were a bit sad at there trip being cut short. All general areas fairly dirty too. Staff poppy and Graham were trying to be helpful but senior member of staff whose name wasn’t provided was blunt and rude. I’ve never walked out of a hotel. Customer service the following morning said they would refund our money within 7-14 days for the room and breakfast. Rightly so we didn’t stay or eat there! A polite apology was also supplied by the customer service agent and they will pass feedback back to the hotel. No gestures of good will to rectify such a poor experience, something which in my own business most certainly would have been attempted to help smooth over an awful experience. The of thing was even though I had plenty of evidence to back my claim they never asked to see it which suggests this is a known problem at this hotel. I use premier inns frequently sadly I won’t be so keen to use them again. As an additional note I don’t think this is a very family friendly hotel the overall atmosphere is not great in or in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Anti social behaviour on departure we witnessed students assisting a man who looked in a bad way and they were saying to emergency services I think he’s overdosed.
