"Do not stay here. The rooms are hotter than outside temperatures in direct sunlight. 30degs at night (outside 18deg)"
The layout and decor is same as all Premier Inns, however there is something wrong with the build of the building because it generates heat. I stayed in a room that was 29.5 degrees C all night, despite the fact outside temperatures were 18.5C and had dropped to 14 degrees C by the morning. Even in direct sunlight the day before outside temperatures had not got to as high as 29.5C so there is something wrong with the buildings design to be that hot. I told staff who said nothing could be done and there was no air conditioning. They put a fan in the room but as that just blew around very hot stale air it didnt help. The Premier Inn Goodnights sleep guarantee doesnt cover hot rooms if there isnt air conditioning, despite the fact there seemed to be heat being generated from somewhere for the room be so much hotter than the outside. No sleep, no refund. Its just a hot building and somehow as a customer you are supposed to know that - so here is fair warning to everyone. Unless its the dead of winter or you like sleeping in sweat, dont go. They couldnt pay me to go back, and now I know this is PRemier inn policy, I will have to dodge premier inn altogether.
      "spotless"
The whole hotel was spotless, all the team we interacted with were very polite and friendly and breakfast was lovely, just as you’d expect from a Premier Inn
      "Hotel room or sauna?"
Easily the worst nights sleep I’ve ever had. The room temperature was 29.5C due to no aircon. Windows do not open wide enough to let in or out any air so cannot understand how air is circulated (it is likely that Covid originated here). Small fan was appreciated but if you’re not sat directly in front of it you may as well be in the depths of hell. But it’s okay because they provide a cool cotton sheet upon request :)
      "Good location, hot room!"
The hotel is in an excellent location for the city centre and tram network. Room and bathroom clean and to Premier Inn standards. Unfortunately no air con and no opening window, meaning that our room was hot and stuffy. A fan HAD been provided in an (appreciated) effort to mitigate the situation, however it wasn't as effective as we'd hoped, so the room was hot. I feel that the prices charged need to reflect this, but they don't. Given that our stay was at a June weekend, there needs to be information provided ahead of the stay (and potentially a price reduction that you accept based on the lack of cooling in place!) I do have to add a mention that the staff are evidently well aware of Assistance Dog legislation, which is very welcome, and much appreciated.
      "Better Premier Inns in Manchester"
Hotel is quite worn and tired - particularly public areas. Didn't have breakfast as lady in restaurant said there was basically nothing left to eat and so best not to bother. Centre of Manchester so is located in very busy/noisy area - I asked for room on back of hotel. Room was okay. Quite warm even with a/c on.
