"Avoid during a heatwave."
Location of the hotel is very good, just a couple of minutes walk from both Manchester Oxford Road for trains and St Peters Exchange for the trams. Located round the corner from a "Spoons" and Turtle Bay, the area can get lively. No air conditioning in the hotel, with only a small desk fan provided and the window left open, which mean on a front face room I had, all the noise from the bars and traffic passing meant, combined with the heat, a "Great night's sleep" was impossible to be achieved.

"Rooms are so hot"
We stayed for one night in July 2026. Location is perfect, staff extremely friendly but rooms are unbearably hot and stuffy. The outside temperature was around 22 degrees by day when we stayed (so no heatwave) therefore cooler by evening but the heat in the room was awful. Premier Inn provided two fans for the room which had little effect. Reception on the ground floor has air conditioning so im not clear why the rest of the building hasn't. When checking out the next morning there was a long line of people complaining about the same conditions to Reception. I'm sure this hotel would be perfect in the winter time but I would suggest you book another Premier Inn for Manchester for the summer months.

"Do NOT stay in this hotel"
Checked into this hotel with my sister to be confonted by a room temp of 30.5 and 2 fans going full blast, with another fan on the table which we immediately put on. As the temperature outside was only 22° and the previous week had been cooler it was patently obvious that this was a known problem before we had even arrived and the heat and fetid air in the room had be present for some weeks, yet Premier Inn still decided it was acceptable to rent this room out.
We tried unsuccesfully to open the window, but were in a rush to get out, so mentioned to a lady in the reception if she could get someone to try and open the window.
We returned at 1am, to a temperature still at a constant 30.5° and on further inspection discovered that the window was NAILED shut, so it could not even be opened a mm to let any hot air out, leaving us in a room with zero ventilation and temperature of over 30°.
I immediately went down to reception to request we be moved to a room with ventilation, only to be told that the hotel was full and there was nothing they could other than to suggest we got some ice from the bar and put it in front of the fan. The man on reception even conceded that 'It was obvious we were not going to get any sleep' and gave me a card with guest relations number on it.
We some ice from the bar ourselves, which made absolutely no impact to the suffocating air in the room, and this coupled with the racket of 3 fans going off all night meant we got absolutely no sleep all night. I also developed a sore throat and severe coughing, and I am still unwell at the point of writing this review 4 days later.
The temperature at 7 am had actually risen to 31.5° and we were desperate to cool down and get some air.
I had a cold shower to try to cool down and to add insult to injury, on stepping out of the shower I discovered my towel was disgusting and covered in either blood or other bodily fluid stains.
I delivered said towel to the man on reception, to add to the complaints I had already registered.
The absolute icing on the cake is the response from so - called guest relations who refuse to re-imburse us for our stay quoting that steps were taken to address our issues once they were raised. This is absolute rubbish, as the issues were apparent and obviously known to Premier Inn before we even got there, and what should have happened is that the hotel contacted us before arrival, explained the situation and offered us the chance of free cancellation as had we known we would never had stayed there. The so-called Good night guarantee is nothing but a patent lie and Premier Inn are obviously cashing in by renting out rooms that are quite frankly hazardous to health, and then refusing to recompense unfortunate guests who stay there.
I assure Premier Inn, that I refuse to be fobbed off by a generic response from guest relations and I will be taking this further, including making a report to Manchester City council health and safety, and I strongly urge anyone who has had the same problems in this hotel to do the same.
