"Basic airport budget hotel but be aware of issues with parking."
This is one of 3 budget hotels in Runger Lane, sharing the same access road. There’s a Holiday Inn Express and another Premier Inn, so worth checking which hotel it is you are staying in. Although this is described as Premier Inn Runger Lane North, looking at a map, it is actually slightly further south than the other hotel, Premier Inn Runger Lane South. I stayed here for a night prior to an early morning flight. The hotel was undergoing significant refurbishment, with scaffolding around it and various materials in the car park - arriving at 18:00, there were only a few spaces left, although there were spaces in the other hotel car park that could be used. The inside of the hotel is a bit run down, but hopefully the refurbishment will address that. Reception was quick. The room was the usual basic Premier Inn – comfy bed, large television with plenty of channels, basic bathroom. I was leaving too early to get breakfast. The car park i(£14/night) s operated by one of these third-party companies using ANPR technology. You need to get a voucher from reception and take it to a machine outside the hotel to pay, which I did. Arriving back from my trip 4 days later, I stayed in the Premier Inn opposite. When I went to pay there, the machine showed that I owed £70 in parking fees, as it hadn’t registered my exit from the car park or the payment I had made, as the same parking company manage the car parks for both hotels. Fortunately, I still had a receipt and also took photographs of the process on the screen when I made payment, so the hotel staff were able to adjust. I have stayed at both hotels previously and had had customers complaining over similar issues. I appreciate that car park management is necessary in a hotel so close to the airport, but these third-party companies aren’t providing this service out of the goodness of their hearts. It’s in their interest to generate penalty notices and there is clearly an issue with the accuracy of their equipment. You should also note that a charge is incurred for each time you leave and return to the car park, so a trip to a garage followed by twilight check-in could see you rack up £42 in fees per day. The stay was fine - what I'd expect from a budget hotel, but the car park issues would make me think twice about recommending or staying here again.
"Well past its best. Desperate need of refurbishment."
Well past its best. Stayed here for years but it’s in desperate need of a refurb. More than just the exterior which looks like they are doing now. Rooms are dirty. Bathrooms falling apart. Restaurant service is shocking and food is dire. Never again.
    "Won't be back"
The bedding was clean bathroom was clean staff were lovely but the down side was the carpets are very poor need replacing and the base of the bed was ripped I didn't sleep as there was a smell what I can only describe as fusty damp & not pleasant at all the carpets throughout the hotel were also poor all lifting round the eages I always stay her when flying from Manchester airport but sadly I won't be back as I say staff lovely but wasn't pleasant at all 2 / 10 unfortunately 🤢 oh we had 2 rooms both poor & smelly wouldn't matter what the cleaners done as it was clean just old n tatty
"Mouldy Bedding and rude manager Paulo"
Paulo, the manager that day was really rude. Our emails stated to use the self kiosk check in. He called to us and said no your to use the desk. We said no problem the email says to use the self service desk but will come over. He was quite rude and arrogant, we explained to him the email was misleading which he replied no it's not. Your wrong, the emails correct. My family then opened up the email in front of him which proved we were correct (none of this should really have been a thing but he made it a thing) Next he kept telling us we need to wait to check in but we can pay for early check in. I told him 3 times we have paid for early check in, he seemed to just ignore me. When he looked up our reservation he then confirmed we had early check in, not sure why I didn't just listen to us. We got there at 13.10 and he said our early check in rooms ( available from 11.00) were not ready. I'm not sure what we spent the extra money for to be honest. We were also told no renovation works were being carried out by email to the hotel, when we got there it had construction vehicles there with parts of the car park missing. Not an issue to me but sent an email to us saying it had all gone. Think some education In communication to needs to be applied. Upon getting the room no air conditioning worked during 30 degree heat. Once we woke up in the morning we noticed all our bedding was mouldy and my partner came out with rashes on her legs. Photos still on my phone. The hotel offered us free parking and that was it really. For the last 7 years I've used premier inn for both corporate and personal travel accommodation and this is by far the worst premier inn I've ever stopped at. Will not be recommending to work or family / friends.
"Stella service and stay as usual"
You always know what to expect at a Premier Inn. Friendly staff and a comfy bed, which is exactly my experience this time. I had some trouble using the check in machines until a helpful staff member came and helped me. My room was comfy and I had a really nice steak in the restaurant. It was a good start my holiday.
