"Very disappointing. Poor value for money."
Very disappointing. Premier Inn did not deliver any quality and cleanliness. The website said they had a restaurant and nearly booked a meal deal. Luckily we didnt as our travel plan had changed and we got there later than planned, but did expect a working bar and some sort of food before 9.30 on a friday night.
The seaview room was a lovely size and comfy bed. However there was no ventilation at all and no openable window. Very suffocating and claustrophobic and very warm room. The bathroom wall by the toilet and toilet paper holder, was a dark wipe mark on the wall. (very off putting, when sitting on the toilet).
There was a dirty gouge on the wall between the bed and window.
The dressing table front had laminate missing and looked as if it had been forced off.
We did mention the dirty marks and no ventilation to reception on the saturday morning. I tried to talk to someone about this on the friday night as we went out to look for a local pub for a drink and a snack. but there was no one to talk to. The guy sitting in the back was talking to somebody and wouldnt come to the desk and the other person on the desk was busy checking in a big party.
We only had one set of towels and had to ask for them saturday morning as well.
The Iron cord was broken and had exposed wires out of it, so it was dangerous to use.
The bathroom fan did not work, so as there was no ventialtion in the room, the already hot room filled with steam.
This is not the quality and service I expect from Premier Inn. The room was airless.
YOur website is misleading as it is incorrect and not been updated to say there is no restaurant and you can not get hot food at night, in the day and at breakfast.
There was some free cold prewarapped croisants and a coffee maching and fruit, which was a nice token, for a very disappointing stay at a dirty premier inn.
On leaving sunday morning, the one working sliding entrance door did not open properly, so you and luggage had to squeeze past to get out safely.

"Restaurant closed and dangerous facilities"
We initially booked Thorpe Bay (free parking) but when this was sold allocated this hotel. Parking 2 minute walk away, charge £17 per day. My party of 3, all oaps, so walking to free side street parking not an option. Bar and restaurant are not open despite all correspondance stating they are. Therefore our large family gathering (joined by family and friends)could not happen. Free croissant, cereal, fruit and drinks provided but no where to eat and cereals to be eaten out of packet as no bowls or spoons. They failed to provide basics for the room ie towels and cups. The rooms were clean but in need of general repair and redecoration. Health and Safety. The cold water, out of the taps is supposed to be drinkable. However even after running it for several minutes was still running lukewarm. Male duty manager provided us with bottled water. The baths are dangerously deep and slippy. The two of our party helped each other in and out whilst I fell on the final day. Having informed the female receptionist she firstly enquired if I needed an ambulance followed by I should have requested a shower mat. These are not offered anywhere.
There is no one on site to handle complaints, all have to go through Guest relations, either phone, whatsapp, no not working, or comment form on their web page. There is no email address.
The male duty manager seemed to be embarrassed by the situation whereas the female receptionist was bordering on being rude.
We wont be stopping with premier inn again.

"A Bad Experience At This Premier Inn"
Booked On line for:Sunday.27th.Septemper.2026
Allowing for the fact I have been here at this Premier Inn Southend-On-Sea (Eastern Esplanade) before. Back in the days of: Brewers Fayre, a bar and car parking availability? None of this was mentioned when I booked on line. Had we arrived before 1pm we would have cancelled there and then and gone elsewhere to stay. As it's Premier Inn's policy no cancelation after this time😕 To make matters worse, had to pay £13.00 for parking after being told we would be able to park down one of the side roads by the receptionist. Needless to say? No parking spaces where available. No bar as under refurbishment and had to order food in for delivery. Worst still? The view from our window (Room 223) if you can call it that? Was of a big construction building works going on. Went back to the receptionist and asked for a change of room and was told nothing available. Could hear creeking noise coming from the bed up next level bedroom . My girlfriend and I felt that upset 😡 by the whole experience of it all. We checked out just gone 22:00 You do however get a complimentary breakfast to takeaway in a bag as you are leaving in the morning in the reception area. As there is no dining area. Unable to give a review on their type of breakfasts as we refused to stay the night much to our dismay due to the bad experience. My girlfriend and I will not be intended to stay in another Premier Inn in the near future. I wonder what 🤔 "Lenny Henry" would have thought of this???

"Absolutely ridiculous!"
Absolutely ridiculous, arrived here from the NW to find there was no on-site parking, no restraunt open! The 'car park' facility available charged a ludicrous amount and could only be accessed during certain hours otherwise it was locked up. We weren't notified of this conviently!

"Choose another hotel"
location is good nice and peaceful .
outside and inside of the hotel is nice and clean .
Atmosphere is rubbish could be better if the staff smile and be more friendly.
Rooms are ok.. not as clean as it could be, toilet seat was dirty and bed was uncomfortable to sleep on.
we was on second floor and the noise from above is disturbing at night especially when they walk.
customer service is no good she was rude at the reception.
