"One night stay for a meeting."
Good stay for our meeting the following day, close to where it was being held. My room was on the 2nd floor, looked to have been recently refurbished. Very clean and tidy, with a well appointed bathroom. Very comfortable bed (great sleep). No problem with noise. Took advantage of the meal deal with the beefeater next door, word of warning, there are now a lot more items on the menu with additional charges now. Food was good for both meal. Staff were very helpful at reception.
"Decent one night stay"
Good sized room which looked to have been recently refurbished. Was located on ground floor which some have mentioned as being noisy but didnt find this to be the case. One of the few Premier Inn's I've stayed in which has a ecent wi fi signal without having to pay for the rip off ultimate wi fi experience. Not best location if wanting to explore main par of Southend as its a bit out of town but does have big Tesco store in same complex.
"Mediocre and no TV"
Room comfort is very good and toiletries provided. However, in the premier plus room you only get enough coffee for the machine for one cup per guest. The water provided is only one per guest but only one still and the other is sparkling. The TV doesn't have signal for standard channels, so you can only watch a movie from 30/40s mainly in black and white. Ground floor rooms are very noisy.
"Avoid!!!"
Avoid avoid avoid !! If they put you in a ground floor room be prepared for a rough night , you hear every movement from up stairs , no sound proofing cheaply built .Lenny Henry is telling fibs you certainly don’t get a peaceful night!! It doesn’t help when the linen lorry is loading at 2.30 in the morning either! We shall avoid all premier inns in future!!!
"No sleep, never mind a perfect nights sleep"
To begin upon arrived I was met by a young chap obviously down on his luck, he was searching round the cars for cigarette ends. The room was very average, basic needs met, only one pillow each. The noise from the next rooms TV was so loud and after continuous banging on the wall to get the person to turn it down, at 11.50pm my husband went down to reception and complained to the lady there. She came upstairs and after several attempts to get the person to answer the door screaming could be heard coming from the room next to ours. A very angry man came out and was instantly in my husband’s face, saying his telly was only on level 15 and having been in the room for 8 months this was the first complaint. We were eventually moved at around 12.30am to another room and could only hear the night cleaner banging his vacuum against skirting boards outside. Needless to say no sleep was to be had, the promise of a perfect nights sleep couldn’t have been further away. I would avoid this hotel like the plague.
