"The staff are in real need of customer services training"
We booked two rooms to coincide with a visit to the RNLI centre. We arrived at the hotel at around 3:30 - well past the published check-in time and was met with a very rude young lady on reception who explained that neither of the rooms were ready and that we’d have to wait for around 15-20 minutes. No apology, just told to wait. After around half an hour we spoke to her again and were told that the hotel was fully booked and that the cleaners were running late. Still no apology. Around 10 minutes later the receptionist called us over to explain that one room was ready, but the other was still going to be 20 minutes whilst the robot vacuum cleaner finished off. Really - a room that small should take two minutes to vacuum… Still no apology. We explained that we would leave our luggage in the first room, take the key to the second and go out for dinner. Her response was very huffy and directed us not to go into the second room at all. (Not a problem as we’d already explained) Still no apology. When we returned that evening the second room (on the ground floor facing the road) was so hot, it was showing 29 degrees. There were two loud fans in the room, but they didn’t make much difference. The two of us and our two young children didn’t keep well at all. The following morning as we went over to the bar for breakfast we explained to a different lady on reception about the temperature in the room ready for the next guests. Her response was also incredibly defensive and rude - she said that it was simply the heat of the building and that there was no air conditioning and that there was nothing she could do about it. Again, no apology… My wife explained that she was simply trying to flag it for the next set of guests. The receptionist simply shrugged her shoulders and said there’s nothing she can do, at which my wife said, “don’t you mean sorry?” The receptionist screwed her face up and looked away as we walked out. The hotel is a budget hotel - it does need a bit of a tidy up, but you get what you pay for. The size of the room was fine for 4 of us, it was clean (eventually) and the staff in the bar (probably the area that needs the most money spending) were lovely. This place however, really needs to consider who they put in customer facing roles. The reactive attitudes of the reception staff was not acceptable. We won’t be visiting again I’m afraid.
"A pleasant visit , after reading previous reviews we were reasonably satisfied."
Having read the recent reviews, we were very apprehensive about our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted in a pleasant manner at reception by Cheryl.and check in was quite easy. Our room was on the first floor near the doors to the stairs and was very clean and tidy with towels and clean pillows. The bed was ok, but obviously well used and a bit lumpy but we slept well. Overall the hotel was really what we expected from a Premier Inn as we use them a lot. It does , however, need a thorough makeover/ Refurbishment as it’s so tired looking, am sure Premier Inn could do better. The staff at breakfast were really helpful and friendly, Carole, was our waitress, really good. The staff are trying hard to give their best and should be appreciated for that both by the customers and particularly management. It is a very busy hotel serving the area around Poole, and this should be considered when reviewing, after all it is a BUDGET hotel priced accordingly.
"Good stay made even better by outstanding receptionist."
The night before we travelled to the hotel, I looked at the reviews. I was really worried to see some recent very damming reviews. However, I need not have worried. True, areas of this Premier Inn do look in need of refurbishment, but there were many good points. The member of staff on reception (Cheryl) was extremely helpful and very friendly. She went out of her way to help me and other guests too. She was a credit to the company. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. We both slept well. The bathroom was also clean and a good size. There was no air conditioning, but a large fan was already in the room when we arrived. The car park was huge and free - a big bonus as far as I’m concerned.
      "Be careful"
Where do you start The woman on reception is dreadful Rooms. Not ready on arrival Next day breakfast not ready x2 excuses gas problem but warming croissants. Next chef ain't turned up again. Night time food awful cold some stuff missing. Day time most staff sitting in garden vaping and no one in bar to get a drink. Cleaners don't get to your room till after 4 pm. Quickest clean I've ever seen swept bathroom on to carpet and left the bits on floor. Enter at own peril
"Old tired , filthy stains on carpets. Bar absolutely shocking."
It’s the worst place in a premier inn I’ve stayed in. I’m shocked and disgusted and feel like I’m in a seedy inn The bar as worn out seats. The garden has got old umbrellas thrown in. The drainpipes are leaking. Loads of cobwebs. Shocking !!!!!!
