"Understaffed"
The exterior really needs maintenance all the paint is pealing, and it looks really run down. The interior is ok, and the staff are welcoming. The restaurant is in the next door former 'table table', it is only now open for hotel guests. We couldn't get a table in the evening at the time we wanted in the restaurant even though it was virtually empty as only 1 chef on ( but this is a common issue) in Premier Inns, so we ate elsewhere. The optics in the restaurant bar were poorly stocked, and it looked like it was closing down. We had the included breakfast the next morning and it was cooked to order, there was only one waitress and lots of guests but she took the orders and served the food quickly, the food was well cooked. I would only recommend for an overweight stay if you can get a cheap price any longer stay would be depressing. The car park requires you to key in your registration and confirm your length of stay otherwise you get a £100 fine. Google maps won't take you to the hotel ignore the instructions and take the turning after Hendy Land Rover and follow the road around to the parking the signage is poor
"Great service and location."
Excellent staff and service. Clean room, good breakfast friendly staff. Safe parking and very quiet given how close the hotel is to the main road. Easy walk into the centre of Christchurch.
"Fishing trip"
Loved the comfort of the bed. Room was dated but otherwise ok. The reception staff were very helpful and helped us enormously when we had a problem with our car breaking down. Thank you ladies for that.
"Awful restaurant but usual Premier Inn comfy bed"
Bed great but avoid the restaurant. The beds are the usual premier inn top quality but the bathrooms in this hotel need revamping. Baths much too high to climb into for a shower and no shower mat (eek). The restaurant was tatty, the outside areas overgrown with weeds and full of rubbish. The windows filthy and the floors sticky. Stuff piled up in public areas and the breakfast so bad I sent it back and had a refund. Grey, dry scrambled egg, bacon tough as shoe leather, overcooked tough hash browns. Awful. Glanced into the kitchen to find someone to speak to as the only person serving had disappeared and the cooks all looked as though they were still students.
"Disappointing breakfast"
As always a clean room and a comfy bed but standards are going down. We regularly use this hotel as family live nearby but seriously considering other options. We have the continental breakfast usually but on this visit it was very disappointing. No croissants, stale pancakes, items not being topped up ie jams and marmalade. We ended up with a couple of pieces of toast, half a stale pancake and a small muffin which for £8.99 was poor value. There were staff shortage issues which I understand happens but as a paying customer that really shouldn't be my problem. I regularly use this hotel as I have family nearby but over time have noticed a decline in standards there are other options to stay nearby and I may have to consider these.
