Christchurch / Highcliffe hotel

Arrived to see RATS running around path to restaurant. Bed was very poorly made (duvet not properly fitted into cover and sheet not tucked in) so did it myself only to find that small sheet had been used for our king-size bed. Reception provided correct size sheet and I remade the bed myself again. Room was stuffy and had an unpleasant smell. Inadequate ventilation as window cannot be opened more than an inch and air conditioning completely ineffective. Dinner at The Globe offered swopping chips for salad which I did but it had clearly been cut hours earlier...Iceberg lettuce edges had turned red and cucumber was so old the slices were transparent. If they can't be bothered to spend a few minutes cutting a fresh salad why do they offer it? Finally as we exited the lift to check out there was an electric bike plugged in and charging less than 3 feet away from the lift and stairs.....the main exits from rooms to Reception. This is clearly a FIRE HAZZARD. When I told the receptionist this she just said that it wasn't her bike and showed little interest when I said that she should find out whose bike it was and to tell them not to do it again. I was appalled that this had not been dealt with by staff and that it took a guest to point this out.

Great location for exploring the beaches, Lymington and the New Forest. We booked for a special event at Beaulieu and it only took us half an hour to get there. The staff were super helpful, we paid to park but it was only £6 for our entire stay, and we took advantage of the meal deal for dinner and breakfast which is such good value. Lovely food, and excellent staff in the pub next door. Usual blissfully comfortable bed, and great power shower. Highcliffe Castle definitely worth a visit. Would highly recommend.

The hotel side of my experience was excellent. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The same could not be said for the restaurant in the pub next door that supplied our breakfast and evening meals. The restaurant was understaffed, the service was slow, and the staff were sometimes irritable with customers. The food itself was pretty good.

Premier inn highcliff been there about 4 times always a good night and a cracking breakfast, going back in 5 days time for another good night.

Thanks for rescuing us at the last minute when we were let down on a reservation elsewhere. You can always rely on Premier Inn to give you a friendly service, nice room, and a big comfy bed!
