Christchurch / Highcliffe hotel

2nd visit and the two experiences could not be different. Stayed 1 night October 23 weekend. The pub next to the hotel is now awful. It is for hotel guests only and only provides breakfast and lunch which again is distinctly average. The place smells awful, there are grubby handprints on the wall behind the bar , there was food waste on the floor and staff are clearly demotivated. The hotel is ok but is tired and also has a damp musty smell about it. It’s a shame as the staff are great. Have been using PI for years but will now look at local pubs and other alternatives £119 for one night without breakfast for what is now an average service. needs refurbishment and carpets need cleaning and sanitizing. Not a particularly pleasant experience.

Visiting family nearby stayed at the hotel before and this upholds the strong premier inn brand. Clean tidy and retains a modern feel and staff faultless. Not tried breakfast or evening meal during the stay. Good price so all in all a very good stay again. I can’t afford Chewton Glenn so thanks PI for a good alternative 😁👍

What a lovely Hotel! The staff are absolute stars, couldn’t haven asked for a nicer stay. They accommodated to my needs. The two girls on Reception were absolutely lovely, Laura and Kiera. Breakfast was amazing also!

Hotel itself fine, but the closure of the onsite pub 3 weeks prior to our visit very disappointing. Always thought Premier Inn was a good brand & our group have always looked for a Prem Inn when choosing our walking weekend location as they USED to have pub restaurants on site. The extra paid for Premier Inn is no longer worth it - will probably use Travelodge in future as the facilities P-Is used to have are all closed now, because of the crazy decision by Whitbread. How to kill an established popular brand in one easy move!

Our overall experience was very good as all the staff were really friendly and helpful, despite a shortage of staff members. Our room was basic though clean and adequate and the beds/pillows were comfortable. Bathroom was clean and shower worked well. Food was delicious and plentiful both at dinner and breakfast and good value. The dining and bar area decor needs updating as it is looking tired/outdated and outside decor too.
