Christchurch (East) hotel

A very poor stay. We stayed here at the end of August 2026 for one night during our stay at the New Forest. Our first complaint is that we have been hit with a parking fine. The website stated that it was free parking, there were no signs in the hotel to say we had to pay for parking and no car registration system. There was never anyone on reception to notify us (we didnt see a member of staff the whole time), and the self-checking didn't state we had to pay. There ARE signs in the car park but we assumed this was directed at anyone using the Beefeater/Pub independently of staying at the hotel since the website explicitly stated free parking. We appealed the parking fine with Horizon, who privately own the car park, and the appeal wasn't upheld despite our evidence. The complaint has now been escalated directly with Premier Inn, where I will be expecting a refund for the parking fine should I have to pay it (I have 14 days to pay). Other than this, the hotel was extremely uncomfortable. Considering it was one of the hottest weeks in in August, the room was not comfortable. The window barely opened due to restriction latches, and the fan provided was dated, covered in dust and didn't blow any air. The room in general was very dated, not the cleanest (everything had a layer of dust over it). I have stayed in a lot of Premier Inns over the years, as have my partner for staying away with work, and this was by far the worst we have stayed in. Normally you know what you're getting but this was well-below par. Avoid staying here at all costs!

Not a very pleasant experience.Upon check in we were greeted by a very miserable looking gentleman.No smile or greeting.The corridor to our room was filthy and the carpets had dust along all of the edges.Our room had an awful smell like somebody had just vacated it and had not been aired.The paint work was chipped and dirty.The bathroom floor was mouldy.The next morning we went to breakfast.Well that was an experience.On arrival we were told to sit where we wanted and it was hot and continental breakfast.No one showed us where anything was.But other guests were told.The coffee was lukewarm and when I told the waitress she poured me another and said maybe that’s as hot as it gets.We ordered poached eggs as the food on the counter had obviously been there a long time.The beans had skin on them and the scrambled eggs had turned to water.After 20 minutes the eggs hadn’t arrived and we were told they would be at least 10 minutes because they’d thrown away the hot water to cook them in.After 45 minutes I went to get them and they weren’t cooked properly.The white was still raw.At which point I didn’t want anything else.The food was left on the heating table all this time and was never replenished. I would not recommend this Premier inn to anyone.We have stayed in many that have been far better.

Great location for amenities, forest walks and shops, no atmosphere in the hotel itself, extremely basic and dated, we thought it was a bargain when we booked it, however, our room was filthy, full of thick cobwebs with dead flies and spiders, cut outs in carpet, dirty radiator with what appeared to be blood or alcohol, all skirting boards were this of dust, grouting in bathroom black and mouldy looking. Parts of panels around sink were away from wall, toilet flush difficult to press, not equipped for two people. Absolutely disgusting, and for the restaurant area well!! Very antiquated, mish mash of colours again everything looked dirty and out dated hence why we didn’t dine here The hallway along ground floor leading to our room was also very dirty and unkempt

Member of staff in bar was very friendly and welcoming, even tho was about to be made redundant. Rooms were very hot and stuffy, making it very uncomfortable to sleep.Rooms were very basic, but clean. Our room’s electric was fine but sister-in-laws room next door had several irritating problems, like the extraction fan in bathroom wouldn’t stop running, and couple of lights weren’t working. But seeing as there wasn’t anyone working on reception it wasn’t possible to report the problems, but we did mention it to member of staff in restaurant who said she would leave a note for someone…who knows if appropriate action was taken. Decor in restaurant was poor but seeing as it was a Beefeater and due to close soon support was to be expected.

This is by far the worst ever Premier inn we have stayed in, and I assure you we have stayed in plenty of the years. It was filthy, tired would be a huge understatement. The staff were very poor, especially the man who sat on the reception desk and let everyone make their way into the restaurant for breakfast only to be sent back to this man to pay, a simple note on the door would of helped everyone. This morning was the first day of beefeater going and premier inn taking over breakfast. Please send some competent staff in to sort of the issues . But before that it needs a huge upgrade, remove the disgusting chairs, carpets and furniture. Cleaning and painting will just cover things up . We have never felt the need to check reviews of premier inns , wish we had for this and will be in future
