Bournemouth Central hotel

I have been to three separate Premier Inns within the same week and they were all excellent value for money plus very clean. Alas, this was not the case with the Bournemouth Central one. Sure, great location near the centre but the aircon/heating was not working, and both bathroom and room were not very clean (hairs on the tiles in the shower and on the desk, a layer of dust on the desk/bathroom floor and everything looked "tired". In reception we had to ring the bell several times and wait several minutes for someone to appear. Also, when we returned to the hotel after an evening out, it was locked and had to wait for the night staff to appear and open the door. Time to update to a system where all doors are opened with the card/key? Finally: speak to the cleaning staff. Throwing pillows on the floor whilst cleaning the rooms is not exactly hygienic.

I had had an allergic reaction while in Bournemouth, and while I'll be leaving some 1-star reviews elsewhere as a result, I can only give 5 stars to Premier Inn and particularly to Lacey on the staff. At breakfast the day after check-in, she remembered our three names and asked how we were. I told her I was terrible, as I'd had to go to A&E with a very serious reaction the previous night - and you wouldn't believe how attentive and caring she was. She waited on me hand and foot and offered to get something from the shop out of her own pocket (which of course I couldn't accept). You wouldn't ordinarily get that in a Premier Inn or similar price points.

Window didn’t close so room was freezing and shower door didn’t close so bathroom soaked. Went to reception to discuss, no one was manning but there was a bell - rang the bell and waited 5 mins - rang again still no one came Tried to feed back by chat what a disaster that was .

Firstly, you and your luggage need to manage steps. There are steps up to reception, and though there's a lift up to the rooms, we went along a corridor with two flights of steps to our room. Part of the dining area is also up a couple of steps. The room is a bit oddly laid out, and we came out of the bathroom to meet ourselves approaching in a passageway in a full-length mirror! There is no mirror over the desk for doing makeup. The room was cold, and we kept the supplied heater on all night. The shower couldn't be used because the cold tap was stuck off - we reported it to reception, which was gratefully received. Breakfast was, well, OK, with helpful staff, but the area is oddly laid out, I think probably because the place is several buildings converted into one.

Awful hotel. Addicts on street just outside, shouting abuse at each other day and night. Fire alarm set off by an idiot so evacuated onto said street. No proper communication from staff, three or four times alarm went off. Then finally told a few people too much information that the idiot had been put into hotel office. A few women outside scared to return to rooms while still in building. Yet addicts outside past 1am shouting abuse at each other and one without trousers. Very scary road to be on. Staff whispering to some guests not all they could have free breakfast! Very few staff on day or night. Security guard only half the day. Downstairs bar never open. Balconies not useable at wired closed. Headboard in room has plastic coating peeling off- this was a premium plus room. Filthy carpet. Maid cleaning room next to us was vaping. If you open balcony door the small amount you can you just get a smell of weed from street.Complaining to premier inn was of no help basically made me feel I was making a fuss. Addicts outside shouting and swearing day and night. Only gave one star because of not being able to leave none. Not only worst premier inn ever stayed in it is worst uk hotel we have stayed in. Never again
