Hayle hotel

I have stayed at a lot of Premier Inn hotels and, as their own adverts boast, you know what you’re getting at a Premier Inn. Unless you stay here. The location of the hotel is idea in many ways, and I am sure that, over the years, it has been a good earner for Premier Inn. So why they don’t invest in it I do not know. Basics - if you are staying here in the summer you should reflect carefully on the fact it has no aircon and no lifts. There is also road noise if you keep the windows open overnight (bikers clearly like to rev their engines on this road) For summer stays you should probably think about the Camborne hotel which has aircon, lifts and is generally more modern and better kept. So. The hotel is not well managed. Most of the rooms are the very dated burgundy style and the bathroom of the room I stayed in had bits of black mould, chipped paint and the bath etc looked discoloured and very very tired. Imagine the bathroom your Nan had in her house from the 80s and never got round to updating. That. The wall mounted heater had a bright display that kept flashing …..to the extent that I had to put something over it at night. The reason I say the hotel is not well managed is because someone signed off on the decoration being fine - with varnish on the corridor door frames smudged onto the paintwork, the soap bottle holder being painted with one stroke of a brush, and no maintenance being done. The place is a dump. I stayed at the start of October and someone desperately tried to tart up the reception with awful Halloween decorations hanging from the ceiling. I spoke with the housekeeping staff, who clearly try their best and were lovely, but God help them. I contacted Premier Inn via their instagram page to ask whether the hotel was due a refurb, but Nora from the social media team didn’t seem too bothered by my messaging. Which suggests ‘they know’ …… So either they don’t care, it’s about to close, or people like me pay their money to stay and they continue to make money on it so who gives a ……

We (2 adults, 1 child) stayed for 1 night on Sunday 18th October. Checked in online but still had to complete forms on arrival. The room was clean and had everything we needed for 1 night. Location wise, it is perfectly situated for Hayle and St Ives. We didn’t use the bar/restaurant so can't comment. We had a family room on the ground floor and there was a bit of noise with doors banging but nothing too drastic. We will definitely rebook for our holiday next year.

Soon as we got there the staff at the desk were very friendly. The room was lovely , just what we needed . Very comfy bed , the room was very clean . Quite a remote area , would need a car to get about . Very good value for money . Very handy garage across the road for extra essentials if needed. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay .

I had never been to a Premier Inn before, but after seeing the TV adverts over the years I was expecting something pretty special. My son and I were greeted by a friendly lady on reception who gave us our key cards on a cardboard leaflet which had an advert for breakfast. I hadn't booked breakfast and seeing this thought it would be a good idea. The receptionist said that they no longer did breakfast here but recommended the place next door. We found our room. I went to open the window and straight away noticed the dirt on the window runner, which would have only taken a minute or so to remove but it was there, then noticed lots of other things a bit shabby about the room, A big stain on the chair, badly fitting ceiling lights, bits hanging off furniture, rusty soap dispensers and a strange stain (I won't say what we thought it was!) on the wall. Overall a very disappointing experience. Like I said before the staff were amazing but a good deep clean and fix up every now and again wouldn't go amiss.
