"Lovely 2 Night Stay"
Stated again at this hotel for 2 nights towards end June for my boyfriend’s birthday. Perfect location. Had 1 evening meal, it was ok. However breakfast 1 morning was lovely, very hot and plentiful, really good value for money. Special shout out to Amy on reception very friendly, lovely added touch off her for Stu’s birthday beer and card left in our room for his birthday. Thanks again Amy.
"Lovely hotel and location but breakfast is chaotic"
This is the second time we have stayed at this premier inn for a family gathering of 3 couples. The first time was Sept 2024 and we went back in June 2025. The hotel itself is great and is in a fabulous location with only a short walk to the town centre. There are loads of bars and restaurants nearby. However, breakfast is provided in the adjoining pub and to be honest, it is a bit of a free for all, chaotic and not a great experience. We had found this when we visited last Sept but thought we would give it another go. We ended up asking for a refund on the Sunday after Saturday’s experience was no better than in September. As it’s a pub, it isn’t just residents that have breakfast there so it’s crazy busy and even though we had booked, we had to wait for a table. Once sat down we literally were having to go up to the buffet numerous times because there wasn’t much food there so we’re waiting for bacon, eating that, then going back up because we saw the sausages had just been put out, eating those and then waiting for eggs and so it went on. The last straw was when we saw a family come in with Tupperware, they piled their plates high and then transferred the food to their plastic boxes, leaving the buffet empty once again. There are plenty of amazing cafes that do lovely cooked breakfasts in the town so that is the option we went for on the Sunday.
"Ideal location"
Ideally situated next to the Marine Lake, with a ten minute walk into the town centre. Ample parking. Bars and restaurants close by. Breakfast is served in the adjoining restaurant. Cooked breakfast is buffet style. Rooms were very clean, large comfortable bed. We had a bath with an overhead shower. Instant hot water. We would certainly stay here again.
"Marcia turp"
The family room was shamefully too small, the pillow was uncomfortable, and the room was too hot to sleep in at night. The staff was not polite or professional at all. The duvet was too thick for the weather, and the sheets were too thin. It was so disappointing.
"Great position and as we were on the second floor had a good view too. Hotel and restaurant were well kept"
We arrived early and went to reception who took our car reg and said it was fine to leave the car. When we booked in we found our room to be clean and tidy. The one thing we did notice that there were no glasses in the room only two mugs which seemed strange however we asked reception and the got us some from the restaurant they agreed and said they were surprised the company had stopped providing them. Also the bath was very difficult to get into we are both quite tall as well! it was one with the shower over the bath. Luckily we took our own nonslip bath mat as we also found the bath slippy You have to ask if you want your room serviced during your stay but reception had supplies of tea, coffee etc. The staff were all very helpful both in reception and the restaurant
