"Work related stay"
Went for work 3 days had to pay to park my car. I got breakfast with the room it was good. There is a costa inside hotel as well I used for my coffee and bought a sandwich as premier inn food prices where expensive for what it was.No room service to top up coffee or tea an no one on reception. On leaving I asked at restaurant if someone would be on reception as I was checking out but told pop room card in a box. Found it poor service and fire alarm went off early morning and no explanation if we could return to room.
"Nice staff. Bathroom boo."
The staff friendly and helpful. Went for a plus room, not worth the money, the bathroom is just the same but with a rain shower head, so awkward to shower, was more tense than went in.
"Don’t waste your money on premier rooms!!"
Booked for a premier plus room.. there wasn’t anything premier about it. Maybe that it had a fridge in there, 2x bottle of water and a coffee machine that was very dirty and did not get used is what it gives it the premier title but just go for a standard room, I wouldn’t waste your money on a room for nothing. Not only that, me and my husband were both staying here, and we only had 1 towel. There is no phones in the room so you have to go down to reception, which is what we did to get another towel, which shouldn’t have been the case. ‘Rooms with a view’ absolutely not, again.. premier plus room I booked, my view with a grey wall. There was a slight slim window down the left hand side of wall, but you couldn’t see anything out of it because it was that small and slim !!
"Lacklustre"
Abysmal automated check in experience with two young assists too busy chatting to assist. We asked one of said assistants about our discounted parking voucher and received the code without a word from her. Room was dark and basic but not very cheap as we paid £150 for one night. Bathroom reasonably clean with two towels provided. Mirror at dressing table/desk was extremely high and had to stand to see in it unless you are a US basketball player. No idea when the bar is open as there was never anyone there. We crossed the road to The Village hotel for a drink. In the morning went to the on site Costa for a coffee but their grinder was broken. I’d say avoid this hotel.
"Extremely disappointed"
We have been staying in Premier Inns for many years, this is the first time we’ve felt a complaint necessary. We were booked in for 2 nights to sail on the Waverley, 3pm check in . Arrived approximately 3.40pm, 3 self check in screens, one broken . Youngish woman in Premier Inn uniform sitting beside them staring at a screen. Didn’t look at us when I asked her to check us in “Use the screens “ she said. Never having been spoken to rudely in any of the other hotels we were surprised, but tried to book in. Screen unresponsive, we tried several times, meanwhile she went off to have a chat with someone else. Eventually we input our name & address, but a pop-up appeared saying Sorry, something has gone wrong, try again later. We tried again, same thing happened. I shouted across the lobby at her, Excuse Me, this is NOT working. She came across (still not looking at us), she tried, nothing happened & she said Oh it’s probably because your room isn’t ready, take a wee seat & waved round the corner. We sat, waited 10 minutes or so & she appeared round the corner and said Ooooh! Obviously she forgot about us. Disappeared briefly & said she’d given us a better room. So, Room 340 is a standard room, it did have a good view. It was also run down, paintwork needing redone, underside of the bed , perfectly visible had scraggly bits of plastic hanging off, there was dust at the back of the table, only one towel for two guests. So, less than delighted we went out for the evening. We came back around 10.30 and headed to the bar for a malt whisky nightcap. I got a table & my husband went to the bar, he was away ages. He came back in a temper. He had asked for 2 Taliskers, the barmaid asked if he wanted ice, he said No, just a little water on the side. To his horror before he could stop her, she poured ‘a slug’ of water in the first glass. He was very annoyed and told her you don’t do that, you put some water in a jug or glass and let people add their own. Then she told him it was only a little water and proceeded to argue with him about it. He said her attitude was dreadful, I said it sounded like the training is abysmal. These experiences took the edge off our lovely break, as my husband said, If this had been our First experience of Premier Inns, it would have been our last. I cannot tell you how angry and disappointed we are, just as well we were out all the time.
