"Great stay"
We stayed the night before a flight from the South Terminal. Hotel was easy to find, right by the shuttle that runs between the terminals. The Premier Plus room was clean and quiet with excellent aicon. Bed as comfortable as always. There was a walk-in shower which worked well. Breakfast was good. One of the best Prem Inns I have stayed in.
"Left waiting to check in with 4 year old in the early hours!"
Stayed at this hotel as our flight landed at 2:45am and we had a 2.5 hour drive home so thought the best thing to do with a tired 4 year old was to stay here as it’s spitting distance from the hotel. After going through passport control and collecting baggage we arrived to the premier inn at 3:30am only to be told they couldn’t check us in (baring in mind we had paid for the hotel since 3pm!) because it was the end of their day and they had a staff change over, when challenged by us that surely we could simply be handed our key card to get into bed after a long flight and in particular get our child into bed. No one has slept on the plane so we were flagging! The staff member told us there was nothing she could do and we had to wait 30 - 40 minutes in the restaurant until they were able to give us our key, I find this very hard to believe but we had no other option unfortunately. After 40 minutes no one has come to get us so my partner went up to reception to make a complaint and lo and behold we were given our key, very easily, they offered us free breakfast for the inconvenience (doesn’t really warrant it though). When we did finally check into our room at 4:20am it was the smallest room I’ve ever seen for a ‘family room’ which was what was paid for! I called reception and asked for a bigger room as we had all our luggage from a 2 week trip and a trolley in our room and couldn’t move! Only to be told they didn’t have any other rooms - of course *eye roll*! Come morning we reluctantly got up to go down for breakfast, when we told the lady conducting breakfast that it should be on their system that we had breakfast booked due to our experience in the early hours, she was absolutely none the wiser, the lady who checked us in hadn’t even put it on the system for us which caused more upset and waiting and having to her a manager involved. All in all it was a terrible experience and I cannot believe they’d leave a family waiting around for nearly an hour at 3:30am when all they needed to do was simply give us a key card, no apology, no compensation. Far from impressed with these guys!
"I'd prefer to use other hotels but proximity to Gatwick is second to none."
Poor layout of the hotel from entry to reception and then rooms is not great when you have cases. Staff walking around at night would help prevent disrespectful people from running up and down corridors making noise.
"Plesantly surprised"
Surprised to find a very comfortable bed, clean room and very quiet. Really quite impressed and extremely handy for an early morning flight

Huge thanks goes to Louise at Gatwick North Terminal, I was alone travelling just after an operation, Louise not only gave me a warm welcome, and ensured I had disabled access to everything, she guided me through the hotel, booked me in for a delicious meal and then very kindly arranged for me to have special assistance for my connecting flight, she made sure I didn’t struggle with my bags or the lay out of the hotel, she made me feel very relaxed and cared for!! Very glad I stayed here and will come again because of her!!! Can highly recommend she went above and beyond to help me!! Thank you!!
