"Short visit to Durham."
The room was very spacious and comfortable . The staff were all friendly and efficient. The hotel was fairly central to the other amenities of the town.
"Premier Plus room a bonus"
Great location with friendly helpful staff. It was also worth spending a bit extra for a Premier Plus room - really makes a difference if you're staying a few days (e.g. extra space, mini fridge, faster Wi-iFi and a quiet location in the building).
"Great breakfasts and friendly staff"
Excellent choice for breakfast, especially perfect poached eggs which can be challenging. The toaster took a while but at least the toast did not burn!. All the staff worked really hard, they were always smiling and nothing seemed to phase them. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. The staff responded to requests for services promptly and courteously. There was a reasonable choice of food for an evening meal and a wide selection of drinks, including tasty, hot chocolate. They do not provide two-pin sockets for electric toothbrushes or razors, which was a bit of a problem, apparently this was because of an upgrade. There was limited space to hang clothes and just one drawer. The bedside table had no drawers but the socket and USB socket was in reach of items on the table. A nice touch was having a little shelf under the mirror where the hairdryer was kept. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar sachets were available at any time for guests to help themselves, which was good. A downside was that the air conditioning unit in the room, during hot and humid weather, was not working and opening the window or turning on the floor-standing fan was too noisy. You could hear other guests in the corridor. I would not fault the staff, who were excellent. Thank you.
""
A really perfect location, very Central for the Cathedral etc. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Steep walk from the Railway Station so beware and may be better to use a Taxi, we did on our return to the Station. Air conditioning was working fine, we were a bit concerned as the Premier Inn details did not show AC. Room was very clean and quiet, obviously been refurbished recently, only criticism was there are no Shaver sockets any longer in the bathrooms, glaring omission, so I had to buy an adaptor from Boots :-)
"Central hotel"
Excellent hotel near the centre of Durham, and near lots of entertainment. Despite being near the hubbub of the city centre, I never was disturbed by noise. The hotel was clean and the food good, although drinks seemed a little expensive. The staff are friendly and very willing to help and offer advice. Parking is very nearby and not too expensive.
