"Air con or not air con ??"
Stayed here when it was very warm weather. There is a room control for the aircon, the hotel is air conditioned as well. The aircon in the room wasn't working and we told reception. They couldn't move us because the hotel was 'full' but asked if we had a fan. We were also told sometimes it takes time for the aircon to kick in since it was a water based system. It was a warm and sticky night and having the window open didn't help because the hotel aircon units were below. I did a feedback to customer services who were 'sorry' but they couldn't provide any kind of refund because the hotel was listed as being 'air conditioned' !! The refund of £1:50 on the parking was underwhelming.
"Great stay, wholly reccommend for service, cleanliness and location."
Excellent service during my three week stay. Nothing was too much effort by all members of staff. Arriving late after work each evening I was met by the night concierge Paul who made my stay memorable, often chatting into the early hours. Great team, and central location to explore the city. Thanks Paul and team.
"One of the best Premier Inns I have stayed at"
The hotel is in a great location for access to the city centre including the cathedral and castle. There is a multi storey car park immediately adjacent to it, you can print a discount ticket at reception to get a cheaper rate. We did not have any issues finding a space, we left and returned 3 times during our stay. After booking the hotel online I rang and asked if we could have either adjoining or rooms opposite as my mother is 88 and needs help with mobility. This was done and we were directly opposite on the ground floor making it easy for her rollator. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Additional milk, tea and coffee sachets are available as you enter the corridor, along with irons and ironing boards. The staff are fantastic, when we arrived one female staff member checked my mums room was okay for her and brought extra rubber shower mats to ensure she was safe when showering. There were 2 team members that really went the extra mile, one is a lady called Colleen who works in the bar/restaurant/reception who was so welcoming, friendly, interested in what you had done, great banter (but still professional) she really made the difference between an autonomous hotel stay to a great hotel stay. Also the chef Chris, he would pop out and check our food was okay, have a little chat etc. we asked his opinion on eating out but needed to be accessible. This hotel is a buffet breakfast, he ensured it was piping hot and refilled regularly. I ordered the vegetarian sausages and poached eggs each morning and they were cooked to perfection. I would definitely return to this hotel, it is one of the best Premier Inns I have stayed at.
"Awful customer service"
Premier Inn standard in all but the staff who were totally uninterested in the guests and were very unhelpful. We use Premier Inns regulary and this is the worst hotel for staff hospitality. Thank goodness we weren't relying on their help as it certainly wasn't forth coming
"Comfortable, clean and quiet with lovely staff"
The room was very clean and quiet with a super-comfortable bed. The staff were lovely really - so friendly and helpful. One example: when the linked taxi firm was fully booked for the time I needed, the member of staff on Reception found another taxi firm for me.
