Birmingham Christmas Market

Short breaks | Christmas | Christmas Market Winners | Birmingham Christmas Market

Immerse yourself in a continental Christmas at the Frankfurt Christmas Market, right here in Birmingham. It’s the biggest authentic German market outside Germany and Austria and the centrepiece of Birmingham’s festive calendar. Wrap up warm and enjoy more than 120 alpine-style cabins selling gifts, jewellery, decorations and handmade toys. You’ll also find delicious German fare like pretzels, schnitzels, roasted almonds and bratwursts, which you’ll want to wash down with a warming glass of glühwein or a crisp German beer. Make sure you arrive hungry!

Christmas Market information

Right next door to the Frankfurt Christmas Market is Birmingham’s Christmas Craft Fair in Chamberlain Square. There you’ll find a warm festive atmosphere, with beautiful gifts crafted by local artisans as well as ethnic goods from around the world spanning over 50 stalls. Alongside the markets, you can’t miss the open air ice rink and giant ferris wheel on Centenary Square. Take the family and make a whole day of it, or go in the evening when the big wheel and ice rink glitter in the dark.
