"Cheap, not cheerful"
Although there were quite a few things wrong with this Premier Inn, I should concede the room was good: spacious, generally clean, and cool (especially important during one of the hottest weeks of a very hot summer). However, it seemed as though the place were very understaffed. It took a long time to be served both at breakfast and evening meal, and on the second day of my stay they could only offer a limited menu because there was no trained chef on duty. As I had pre-paid for dinner when booking weeks earlier and the hotel was unable to offer some of the dishes I expected, I believe this should have entitled me to some discount. However, none was forthcoming. Like a budget airline it seems the raison d'etre of the Premier Inn is grubbing every penny out of clients. Pre-paid for an evening meal deal? Okay, but you're only allowed a bottle rather than a pint of beer as your drink accompaniment...pay the £1 upgrade for a pint. The restaurant itself is awash with leaflets and posters for promotional deals - I counted four different ones. And taking pride of place in the bar is one of those arcade claw machines where users can (usually unsuccessfully) fish for cheap soft toys: another means of extracting a few quid from Mum or Dad's pockets. The whole place just felt cheap and crass rather than hospitable. Lenny Henry tells us: 'You know what you're getting with a Premier Inn'. From my experience what you're getting is a multi-coloured temple to the excesses of vulgar commercialism.

"A very poor premier inn"
A side from the lovely front of house reception lady on our first night this is the most disappointing premier in. I have stayed in. A large room but incredibly hot. The bed clothes didn’t fit the bed, the door lock was broken, in the evening the staff made eye contact and walked away in the restaurant. The toilets had no soap, I asked staff to rectify this 3 times over my 2 day stay. The breakfast was table order not Buffett ( which my kids and I hate), too 35 minutes to arrive ( In spite of being quiet) and was both burned and cold. If you measure this sort of sleep by - did I sleep well? Then - No. Were the staff friendly ? - except one, No. Was the food any good? - No.

"Staff make this an excellent stay"
The superbly welcoming staff make the standard Premier Inn experience very good. Kim on reception and Margaret who served breakfast deserve special mention. The breakfast offers a good selection, room was clean.
The accessible room is well equipped except for a low bed, too difficult to manage unaided for my mother who has age related mobility issues.

"Good location, shame the evening restaurant was shut"
We stayed here on-route to the ferry terminal. Hotel was clean, comfortable and as expected for a Premier Inn. A 360 quiet fan was provided in the room, which was helpful in the very hot weather at the time.
We were very disappointed that the on-site restaurant had already closed at 5pm and we were not given any prior notification of this. We had to drive into Bangor to find somewhere for an evening meal (try Wetherspoons!)
Breakfast at the on-site restaurant was freshly cooked and very nice.

"Great Experience"
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Recommended local activities and flexible with room changes (our room wasn't ready on check in, so staff gave us access to a different one). Room was clean. Location great, Just outside of Bangor, 15 mins to Caernarfon, various attractions including national trust Plas Newydd, Penrhyn Castle etc. Fan in the room which was appreciated in the heat. Blackout curtains, extra pillows and a bath. We paid extra for the all you can eat breakfast in the restaurant. Continental and cooked breakfast. Cereals, pastries, pancakes, yoghurt and fruit. No issues with noise.
