Pontypool hotel

Stayed here a couple of nights on a business trip. Everything you’d expect from a Premier Inn in terms of standard services but the Breakfast was above and beyond. No buffet service for full English but a freshly cooked personal choice breakfast instead. Quality of both the food and the service was excellent with a visible chef taking genuine interest in the guest experience and taking pride in what he was producing. Rare these days.

Stayed Sunday and left Monday following great service from Angel Sue was a great start to the morning. Breakfast was all fresh and superbly cooked by Tap. I very much hope to stay again, great service and very welcoming staff.

Firstly a big shout out to Sue in the restaurant for breakfast servings. She was a pleasure to meet and what customer service is all about. The freshly cooked breakfast was excellent. But note this is not an all you can eat breakfast like those associated with Premier Inns next door to Brewers Fayres where you can help yourself. A nice touch in the foyer were a selection of books with proceeds going to charity. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The bedding and blackout curtains are always of the same standard at premier inns so you are ensured a good nights sleep. However on this occasion the heater in the room had a bright light that went on throughout the night by clicking and glowing (a small annoyance) There was also ivy growing through the window. Whats more I've not seen a shower curtain since the 80s so this was quite a shock and not something I like from a hygeine perspective. The extractor in the shower also did nothing to demist the room so the mirrors could not be used for hours. Something that did affect our sleep was the couple next door swearing and screaming at each other for hours with numerous door slams. I know this is nothing to do with the hotel but perhaps night reception could listen out for these types of disturbances. Also perhaps more than 1 hanger per person would be an improvement. But plenty of shelving to fold clothing on.

We arrived hours early at Pontypool premier inn to check in after a long hike in the early morning. We were immediately welcomed by the lovely reception team. Who had no issues with our early arrival. All the staff were friendly and helpful ensuring our stay was off to a great start. Our room was clean, warm and comfy just what we needed. It was Great value and the team made it a great place to stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Everyone went out of their way for us! That is reception, housekeeping, maintenance ( if I know their names I would name them) We walked over to the harvester for dinner where we had some lovely food and great service too. After a well needed sleep we went for in-house breakfast which was fabulous! The chef was took our orders and cooked everything fresh to order. We fantastic poached eggs. He was so accommodating along with all the other staff. To conclude this is the best premier inn we’ve stayed on for friendliness and service (we have stayed in several all over the uk) Thank you again everyone. The Davies’ (room 104)

Spent the weekend with family and as usual, greeted by great staff. A big thanks to Sue, who should be the face of your company. She shows just how to do customer service, always polite and with a smile. Even stepping up to cook the breakfasts when the chef was off.
