Newport Wales (M4, J24) hotel

Last night I stayed here. It was booked back in May when the Beefeater was still open. However we became aware that this was closing but that a restaurant was available. As I was part of a large group using the hotel before a work event in the local area one of the group pre booked a table for us all. When we got to the restaurant it became very noticeable that there wasnt a lot of staff. It would appear that only 2, Heidi and Chantelle, were working. Those poor women were rushed off their feet with not only our group but at least another large group (from the same work event). We have all come from all across the country so definitely wanted to eat! Those 2 ladies ran the bar, took our food orders and brought out the food to us!. Yes we waited a bit longer than if they had more staff, but the two ladies were so pleasant and cheerful that the time fidnt really matter....it meant we could all chat for a lot longer as a group. These 2 ladies are a credit to your business and the fact that Heidi is back on reception this morning just shows her commitment to your business! I do hope these 2 lovely ladies are given all the praise they deserve!

Should have read the reviews prior to booking. The hotel is in dire need of an upgrade. Check-in in was ok, but laboured as the lady was intent on finishing an email for he restaurant next door and I stood there for about 5 mins. Room was on the first floor, 121. Upon arrival it was so hot albeit the corridors were cool. There was a fan and the window was only able to open about one inch. The fan was pointless. It was only 18c outside! During the night I had to close the curtains as the outside light shone directly into my room (see photo) presenting any air entering the room. The restaurant next door (old beefeater) looked like it was closing down and you had to sit in the old bar area as everything else was taped off. Overall dreadful experience. Avoid

I have stayed at Premiere Inns many times and have never had a complaint. Unfortunately, my first stay at the Premiere Inn Newport (Chepstow Road) was extremely disappointing. I stayed with my 5 year old son & the headboard had fallen off the wall (it wasn’t in the room) which left screws and staples sticking out of the wood right by our heads!! It was extremely dangerous and due to it being late in the evening and my son being exhausted, we slept upside down in the bed so not to hurt ourselves in our sleep.

Staff were lovely, helpful but unfortunately as they were so understaffed we missed out on free unlimited breakfast. (This was the only reason we booked the premier inn as free with room booking) Wait times were over an hour with half a filled restaurant. Staff were professional even with customers shouting constantly. Very disappointed with premier inn, completely unfair to the 2 staff members and chef. Will not be staying in a premier again.

Convenient location, close to motorway. Room was clean but only had one ar chair - could have done with one more. Difficult to control temperature of the room if it gets hot. A fan is provided but it's not that efficient, nor quiet enough not to disturb your sleep. If you keave the window open, you can hear passing traffic.
