"Not so Premier Inn"
Premier Inn ought to be ashamed of this "hotel" from a branding perspective this can only be detrimental and no amount of advertising the comfort of the beds will entice me to book Premier Inns again...to start the pricing is akin to low cost airlines as I was charged an average of £68 per night for 2 nights but ended up paying £215 with additional taxes and extras (not sure what these are)...the room pictured on the booking being an invitation was nothing like the family room I walked into... what was clearly a standard double room had a single put-you-up bed rammed against the double bed, another single bed against the window wall looking like a crowded hostel room. I'd deliberately booked for what I thought would be extra space. The room itself was old-fashioned, tired and noisy. The reception area was unwelcoming and looked like a place I'd stay in in eastern Europe when I was a student in the 80s. We tried to have something to eat in the Beefeater, no wonder Whitbread are trying to sell them, our drinks order was lost so waited over 20 mins for them....the staff we something out of comedy we finally left after an hour of waiting as we realised the food order was also lost....I don't blame the staff the lack of management and training probably has more to do with the shoddy facilities and service...oh and one of the lifts are broken. So with this we have moved to the Village Hotel..much better room and facilities as well as well trained attentive staff....the cost....cheaper than the not so Premier Inn....lastly staff appeared to have tried to hide a stale carpet smell in the corridors with perfume.

"Unsatisfied"
Dreadful hotel , tired furnishings, food greasy tasteless, restaurant depressing area, sticky tables , soulless atmosphere.
Noise from outside loud, net curtains falling of rail and could have done with a good wash .
Staff not present when we checked out a day earlier than planned so phoned to explain our early departure due to state of this run down establishment to premier inn customer services but they were not at all interested and kept repeating we can’t take responsibility for this unless you complain to staff in hotel , not easy when nobody was present on our departure.
We lost cost of one night and 2 breakfasts.

"Tatty"
Unfortunately this place is a perfect example of how Whitbread are allowing Premier Inns to become run down. The door to the room didn’t lock, the net curtains fell down during the night, and the whole place is tatty.
The whole place needs to close for a total refresh.
