Port Talbot hotel

We’ve stayed in this hotel many times over the years but this was the first time since the sad closure of the Beefeater , Bagle Brook , next door . Our “ greeting “ at the front desk was odd but we had a room upstairs in the new ( ish ) block Room was fine , Lenny would have been proud . Comfy bed , good heating , Wi-Fi, everything you could want for an overnight stay . Out of curiosity we went for a drink in the bar ( the old pub ) when it opened, it was like a zombie film , cold dark and we were the only people in there . Luckily we weren’t eaten but it wasn’t great . We didn’t eat in the ” restaurant “ but didn’t look inviting, only 1 person in at 6pm . All very sad in what used to be a thriving pub/ restaurant. My tip would be eat either from the chippy ( Finnegans ) adjacent ( booze available from the Spar next door) , or at the Tyn Y Twr at the top of hill , 10 mins walk away , a rough and ready local .

Disappointing stay. Regular premier Inn user probably my worst stay to date. Walked in to a tired room. Mug for hot drinks dirty had to get replaced. Shower curtain rail half hanging off. Breakfast very poor. Was not at all busy but plates and bowls not restocked, tables not cleared. Pretty limited continental choice. Tea boxes empty. Ran out of baked beans. Hot food cooked to order - no problem but took 20 mins for basic stuff to come out. Poached eggs overcooked. Scrambled egg was more grey than yellow. Stayed down the road at Bridgend and that's miles better. Won't be back here.

Restaurant was dirty, staff seemed poorly trained. The restaurant was closed for breakfast and evening meals on one night and no hot breakfast available on another morning. The amount of filth behind the terminal and the back of the coffee machines was disgusting. The whole restaurant was very tired and dirty. Room was not serviced despite leaving the door hanger.

As we are regular guests we coming over 9 years. We felt apart of the family. Till we turn up on the 3th September we felt on that day . We felt we was ignored by the reception who looked miserable. The cleaning staff where very friendly. Room was clean and tidy

We have been loyal premier inn customers for many years, sadly our stay here did not meet expectations, the bed was not comfortable like they normally are, the pillows were nt of the premier standard we have been used to, we had a 4 night stay and our room wasn’t cleaned or towels changed , we weren’t told that you have to request room cleaning daily before 12 , the food facilities were very poor. Staff however weee helpful and friendly
