Merthyr Tydfil hotel

Nothing like the pictures, room 9 was bad, mould in the bathroom on most tiles, and the elephant being kept above room 9 wasn’t acceptable, a mild break between 2-4am ment I managed a little sleep but over all the worst premier inn I have stayed in, normally not bad but this one, especially room 9 need stripping out and replacing.

Lovely old building surrounded by trees. Rooms are exactly what you'd expect from a Premiere - comfortable (especially the bed!), clean, well-presented. Breakfast in the adjacent building was lovely too, everything freshly prepared with very fast service. There was always someone at the desk and the staff were friendly and helpful.

In a nutshell this was the worst premier inn I’ve ever stayed in. In fact, this is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I could only compare it to being a hostel in Thailand. It was so dirty in our room I wouldn’t have even let my dog sleep in it. See photos of what we had to deal with if you dare (trigger warning to the bodily fluids)!!! No receptionist to see for 2 days, and no one answered the bell at the desk FOR TWO DAYS. Never again will I return to this hotel.

Certain staff very unhelpful and tried to enter our room uninvited. No evening meals available and not given much notice and unable to change anyway as non refundable booking. Air conditioning not working properly. Not what you expect from Premier Inn sevice

Having paid for breakfast, the hotel was unable to provide food suitable for my wife's dietary requirements as their kitchen was non-functioning and their alternate provider had no suitable food. I accepted their offer of refund - 7 days later this has still not appeared in either my or my wife's account. Have been unable to contact the hotel or customer service team to discuss.
