Cardiff West hotel

Planned a one night stay at this hotel. Booked two rooms, with a family of five. The rooms were very clean and fresh. We’re fussy for cleanliness and our rooms were pretty much spotless. This review is not just about the hotel, but the individuals who run the place. Kim (Manager) was fantastic, she was on the ball and made sure our stay was comfortable, and it was. Carol in reception also made sure we received our breakfast as promised. She was also very courteous. I also have to say thank you to Ben in the restaurant, very polite and attentive. In a nutshell, if I received this kind of service at other Premier Inns then I’d be staying with them more often. Hint to senior management - those mentioned in this review ought get some praise from you guys. They’re model employees in their respective areas. Thank you!

Absolutely miserable stay. The room had no air conditioning, no fans, and with the heat, it felt like being trapped in an oven. To make matters worse, everything was covered in dust — from the furniture to the curtains. It was stuffy, uncomfortable, and clearly not cleaned properly. I couldn’t sleep at all and left feeling worse than when I arrived. Avoid this place unless you enjoy sweating in dusty silence.

From the very first moment we stepped onto the premises Kim the manager made us feel so welcome and like nothing was too much trouble! The room was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend. Thank you Kim

We needed to stay over for a Cardiff university visit, and we chose to stay at this premier inn. We arrived around 19.45, the receptionist was very friendly upon arrival. We had booked the meal deal, the receptionist booked us a table for dinner and we were asked what time we wanted a table for breakfast. I would prefer to be able to go down for breakfast when I wanted, not have to book a specific time. We booked an upgraded room, and I thought the room looked nice. When we went in, it was cold as it had the cold air on. I changed the temperature and we went for dinner. I was expecting to see more customers in the restaurant, as the receptionist had implied it was very busy next door. Service was average. We were ignored whilst we stood waiting to be seated, to start with. The food was nice. The manager was very friendly and seemed to be working the hardest. When we went back to the room, it was still cold, I actually had to turn the whole system off to warm up. As a perimenopausal woman, I normally get very warm at night, but I actually slept under the duvet that night. I woke up around 4.30 am. and could not go back to sleep due to road noise. The upgraded shower wasn't good. The fixed head worked, but I wanted to use the more powerful shower head to wash my hair. It did not work at all! I did report this to the receptionist. Breakfast was terrible. The cooked items were cold. The person serving breakfast wasn't particularly friendly, and when he wasn't serving , he was leaning in a corner by the kitchen on his phone. I probably would return but wouldn't use the restaurant again.

Very comfortable stay, room was excellent and restaurant good. Particular thanks to Jackie our waitress who was knowledgeable and very helpful.
