"Worst Prem inn I have stayed at - Too hot too handle"
First positives - decent sized room, free car park, very quiet. 30mins walk from town, flat walk so doable in the summer probably wouldn't be a good idea in the winter. Cleanliness was average definitely a rushed job but beds were clean even if plug hole and floors weren't 100%. The reason I wouldnt stay again and the low rating is due to sleep quality. Although I appriciate it is advertised as no air con and they do provide a fan the whole hotel is unbearably hot. The window was open when we checked in, we left it open all the time we were out (got back at 11.30pm) and left it open all night and the fan on all night also. The room never cooled. We slept on top of the covers and still couldn't get any cooler. Breakfast also let the hotel down only the black pudding and eggs on the buffet were hot. Bacon and sausages were replaced while we were waiting and were cold straight away. Not the normal premier inn quality.
"Awful accessibility experience!"
I book with the Premier inn quite often, and as I have mobility limitations and other medical conditions, I Always book an accessible room, usually with twin beds, but occasionally with a double bed, but always with an accessible shower, NOT one with an over bath shower as I can't step into or out of it! The receptionist argued that I hadn't booked an accessible room, then tried to change me to a room with a bath, eventually giving us an actual accessible room, which was the furthest from the entrance that you could get!!! I left the following morning in so much pain due to the distance we had to walk it was a joke !!! I am seriously reconsidering using the Premier Inn again!
"Could do better"
Booked a twin room for father and son both over six foot but we were given a double bed. It was late and we were too tired to ask if we could change rooms. The room was too hot and the fan provided did nothing to help. On the plus side it had parking and an on-site restaurant and the staff were friendly.
"Parking fine and a a smelly room"
* The first room provided stank of mould and damp, and was on the first floor next to a walkway, I informed the male receptionist that I would like to move as it smelt and also for safety reasons. I found him to be rude; however, he did move me to a nicer room. Nearly two weeks later, I have received a fine for parking at the hotel. £100, if I pay within a time frame, io can pay £60, whoppy. * I was not informed that I needed to register, nor was I asked. trying to contact the hotel now directly, and the phone is never answered.
"Great for the stadium!"
Great hotel only half hour walk to the concert at the stadium! Nice rooms friendly staff great food and breakfast! Will be back
