Cardiff City South hotel

Very nice hotel and had a nice breakfast. No charge for carpark. Bar was reasonable price. Friendly staff and very helpful.

The worsed premier inn i have stayed at. Room smelt damp, mould on skirting boards, damp under window, so couldnt sleep in one bed. Asked to be moved as a party of 11 of us, but was just given a card to call to complain. The brewers fayre was dirty, sticky tables and shut early, decided not to eat there as just grotty. I would not recommend as this hotel and pub as needs gutting. Very disappointing as I have stayed at many and never had a bad one, until Cardiff City South.

It was unfortunate that the restaurant ceiling had collapsed prior to us arriving but I feel we could have been notified of this so we could make the decision to stay elsewhere where we could eat onsite instead of having to drive. We had booked this particular hotel for it's parking and onsite facilities but we were sent to another one further away which required parking fees. The availability of staff when checking in was poor and we were left waiting in reception for twenty minutes. The actual checking in when someone did arrive took an awfully long time. There wasn't enough mugs or tea and coffee sachets in the room for 3 of us over the weekend and no glasses either. As the vending machine also wasn't working our only option for drinks in house was the bathroom tap. Glasses are usually provided in bathrooms. We stayed on the ground floor and did experience noise at night with people coming in and slamming of doors the following morning. That said the beds were very comfortable and room suitably dark when curtains were pulled. Ok for a solo business trip if happy to stay in room and bring snacks but for a family it was pretty dismal and unfortunate the restaurant was out of action.

Perfect location to explore the City centre and the Bay , there are lots of parking, I even left at 6pm to go to town and came back with available space , compare to other ,you fight for a parking space, across is the Brwers a buffet breakfast with lots of choices. Staff are friendly ,made us feel welcome. Just a perfect stay with my cousins from New York.

Set about a 15 minute walk from Cardiff City centre it was ideal for what we needed. Easy access to other routes around Cardiff area, the bay and Penarth. Hotel was really clean from what we saw, it smelt clean and our room was spotless. We opted for the meal deal, 2 courses in the evening with a drink. Unlimited breakfast in the morning was nice with a good variety. Plenty of onsite parking.
