Cardiff City Centre (Stadium) hotel

The location is great, just a new minutes walk from the train station, and right in the centre of the city. The room was clean. Would stay again.

This location is perfect for the train station, city centre shopping and sport/music venues. The nearest bars and restaurants are just a 2 minute walk. We also used the bar at the hotel for drinks which were reasonably priced and the eating area for breakfast. Breakfast is good value for money with cooked and continental options although with so many other cafes nearby, we only had the breakfast once during our stay. We opted for a Premium room which was well worth the extra money to have air conditioning as the room was quite warm when we arrived. The room was very clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. We stayed for 3 nights and requested an optional room clean on one of the days which refreshed our room. You have to park in a public car park so we booked and pre-paid for a space in the shopping centre car park which worked perfectly which was a 5 minute walk. It’s just something to bear in mind as adds extra money to your trip! We would definitely stay again if we visit Cardiff in the future.

We visited this Premier Inn as the one we were staying at, the ceiling collapsed at their restaurant so couldn't dine in house. The whole bar and dining area was spotless and very inviting. Our server was very friendly and although a couple of things we wanted weren't available we still had a lovely meal. As it was just my son and I dining we shared some small plates which were delicious. We shared chicken wings, salt and pepper chickpeas and falafel. My son also had his second choice of dessert as his first wasn't available. The menu had such a good range we returned for our evening meal the following night. My son had spinach ravioli and I created my own pizza. Both were amazing. We were lucky enough to have the same server as the previous night and on clearing our table she let my son know that his first choice of pudding he couldn't have the night before was back in stock. We were both really impressed that not only did she remember us but also remembered what he had wanted the night before. All the staff were really friendly. Would happily stay at this Premier Inn and would highly recommend dining there.

Our stay was ruined by the extremely rude chef at breakfast. Never met someone so rude in a customer service role before. Point blank refused to cook some vegetarian sausages . We won't return.

The room conditions were okay but room wasn’t at check in time and when queuing reception staff were allowing other guests to walk straight up to the desk and be assisted. We waited for an hour and I am pregnant with a young child. Hotel wasn’t prepared for the large amount of young children staying. Paid £20 for breakfast and there was hardly any hot food available as the restaurant was so busy. People were just walking in without paying as the front was unmanned. There were no travel cots available due to the large amount of families staying however a staff member did manage to get us one which we appreciated. Overall the room was clean and had no issues but the service was poor and frustrating. I imagine if they were better prepared it may not have been as bad.
