"Sleeping in a tent would be preferable."
The location of the hotel is great, it's across the road from Wales Millenium Centre so could be a great place to stay after visiting the theatre.
We arrived at 4pm. There were no staff on reception. I had booked two rooms, one for me and one for my mother and brother who has a severe learning disability. I'd booked a twin room for them which means that the sofa bed should have been made up.
I used a check in machine in reception but it only checked me into my room. I then had to press a buzzer to call the attention of a member of staff. I explained what had happened at the check in machine but he still looked blankly at me and asked me what the problem was. I explained a second time and he eventually checked my mother and brother into their room.
When we got to the room the sofa bed wasn't made up, despite the booking clearly saying a twin room. I went to reception and asked why this hadn't been done. I was met with a shrug and a promise the room would be made up when we went out for dinner and the theatre.
The rooms were freezing cold as the air conditioning was on full blast. It was very hot outside but the air conditioning was far too high. When I switched it off the room remained cold which made it difficult to sleep.
When we returned after the theatre the second bed still hadn't been made up. I had to go back to reception where again there was no staff member available so I had to press the buzzer and eventually a member of staff came through and said he would make the bed up right away. During this time my brother was very tired and wanted to go to bed.
As well as this the key slot for the room electricity didn't work properly and the lights kept going out. Every time the light went off my brother was scared. We eventually rammed the key into the slot which did keep the lights on.
The rooms were clean. Nothing to complain about there but the towels looked old and tired.
Just as we were going to sleep the fire alarm went off. Only for 5 seconds or so. I went to check and there were no staff around but nobody was evacuating the hotel so we assumed it was a mistake.
Didn't sleep well due to feeling stressed by staff incompetence whilst trying to look after my family.
In the morning my mother and brother went for breakfast. He has celiac disease so his breakfast was cooked to order. The lady in the restaurant was lovely. However when his breakfast was brought out it had baked beans on it which he dislikes so the whole meal had to be taken away and recooked. He waited another 15 minutes in order to eat.
The majority of staff here don't seem to care and it creates a negative environment. Its all very slap dash.
We paid almost £500 for two rooms for one night with breakfast. The extortionate cost was due to school holidays but this hotel isn't worth £20.
I'd give the hotel zero stars if I could.

"to be honest, its Poor."
Great location to the Bay and transport links into town... but and this is a BIG but.... there are so many things that need to be improved on and things that need to be sorted out..
first off - the buzzer on reception for people wanting to return to the hotel after 11pm.. the buzzer doesnt work and needs to be monitored by reception staff that would be fine if there were staff on reception, this meant that my wife had to wait 15 mins outside the hotel as she waited for someone to come and let her in...terrible really and not great for the safety of people staying in the hotel at night if they have to wait that long on the pavement to be let in.
Rooms - so the requests to have the rooms cleaned needs to be improved on , just basic stuff not being done right - not enough replacement towels being provided, glasses being taken away and not replaced, toilet paper levels not being checked - just really poor service from whoever is cleaning the rooms not doing the basics right.
stains and dust on the carpet
Amenities wise - all okay, the bar is good, we didnt eat at the restaurant at all , heads up the car park next door is very expensive to use despite getting your car parking ticket validated at the hotel reception its still £11 per day.
i wont be staying at the hotel again given that there are so many options nearby

"Family holiday"
The hotel was convenient location.
But room and bathroom not that clean with dust and cobwebs and an eye contact lense on bathroom floor. 2 members of staff were rude and argumentative. When booked to have room cleaned we only been given 1 towel replacement in each room with 2 people in each of the 3 rooms

"One of the worst premier inns."
Staff not friendly. Not letting us check it at 2:50 pm. Was that really necessary when we’d drive four hours? Room dirty. Dusty. Blood on bath floor mat and net in window. Cobwebs. Skirting boards black with dust. I cleaned them with toilet roll. Never return. Staff unhelpful. I asked if I could have an extra glass cup for the room because we were three people and had two cups. The man at the bar said use two cups, then wash one up in the bathroom sink for my daughter. Unacceptable! I’d not recommend and wont return.
