Rhyl Seafront hotel

Good location , comfy bed , room needed some maintenance, curtains hanging off , toilet seat loose , shower head poorly attached , under the bed needed vacuuming , WiFi signal not good . Premier inns used to be good value for money but the prices have considerably increased without comfort and care for guests increasing.

I had a wonderful stay until a male staff member let themselves into the room whilst me and my partner were half naked. We got dressed and went to report this to the manager, her attitude was disgusting! I told her what happened, I was obviously angry and upset, her attitude was very cold and instead of being apologetic or showing empathy, she proceeded to TELL me why this may have happened, maybe somebody checked out as me?!?! REAlLY???! like I care, IT SHOULDNT HAPPEN. How about instead of telling me why this could happen, actually get of you backside and find out HOW this happened!! She wasn’t bothered that I felt embarrassed or violated, it makes me wonder how many times staff just let themselves into guests rooms!!! Imagine if I was on my own, women’s safety is obviously of no concern to her. We asked for a complaints form (which we never received ). We went outside for a cigarette and when we came back in she hadn’t even moved, clearly hadn’t gone to check any paperwork or gone to speak to the staff member or get me a complaints form so was clearly not concerned. We decided to go home early as I was really upset and it just ruined the stay (we weren’t due to check out for another 2 hours and we were planning on spending the day in Rhyl). As we left she said thanks bye!!!?! No apology or sorry this happened. DISGUSTING! It was bad enough that someone came in the room but her attitude just floored me! This woman really should not be a hotel manager and needs serious customer service training! I am a store manager myself and would never take this kind of complaint so lightly, guest and staff or women’s safety are clearly of no concern to this woman . I have contacted the H/O who actually seem to be taking this very seriously. However as I say up until that morning everything was great and would probably have given 5 stars… Hotel check in was easy and the 2 staff members were great, really helpful and friendly, same staff members at dinner, again really great, credit to you. room was lovely and bed super comfy, free secure parking was great, shower AMAZING! Breakfast was really nice- anoying that you have to walk around the outside of the building to get to reception when restaurants not open - tv remote batteries went dead in the evening ( couldn’t be bothered getting out of bed and dressed at 11 pm). Having staying in many premier inns previously this isn’t the service we expect normally we have had excellent experiences but this does put me off using them in future.

When I'm travelling on business or just to break a journey I find Premier Inns with their meal deals exceptionally good value and my 3 night stay in Rhyl was just that. The room, bed were comfortable and the shower was good. The breakfast perfect for my needs (eggs and bacon can never be perfect when served as a buffet) and dinner typically basic but very ok and excellent value. Being able to park easily makes life simple.

The location is great with only a few minutes walk to the beach, and the free parking near the hotel is a real bonus. The hotel was very very busy as it was a bank holiday, so there should have been more staff on, bit the ones who were in did their very best to help. We booked last minute, so we're given the only available room which was a premier plus room. This was very spacious and the bed as always was very comfortable. The air conditioning was really good too, especially when it was around 30 degrees outside. The only thing that let the room down was the lack of hot water for our shower when we got back from the beach around 18:30 in the evening. Both the evening meal and breakfast were tasty. We will definitely go back again later in the summer.
