Dundee Centre hotel

re my stay on Thur 7 May A lovely experience! Big comfy room with lovely bed and big TV! Great to have temp control too and a lovely on site Beefeater restaurant! (enjoyed my steak meal w new pots!) with nice views over the Tay! Friendly staff too at reception and in the restaurant! Overall a lovely stay!

By the River adjacent to Train Station, V&A and Discovery. River view although the window was small - floodgates at entrance a clue perhaps as to why. A Tesco the size of a small town 300yds away along a pleasant promenade. Took breakfast as we were unacquainted with Dundee - excellent. Also dined at Beefeater to avoid trekking uptown - pleasantly surprised at quality of meals and attention by hard-working Lynn. Room as expected from Premier Inn - no complaint.

When in Dundee, Premier Inn riverside is our go-to accommodation spot. After several stays at other Premier Inns in the area this hotel is a wee gem. The hotel and it's professional, friendly and accommodating staff are exceptional. We travel with a whole host of issues and nothing is ever to much trouble (or "eye roll worthy" per the usual response from many similar establishments). Rooms are clean, quiet, reasonably priced particularly during the week and provides all you need for a comfortable stay. This hotel is but a stones throw from the trainstation and bustling city centre. The riverside view creates a remarkable ambience calm and tranquil . In my opinion the difference at this Premier Inn compared to others is the wonderful staffing team at Dundee City centre. Headed by the indomitable Sean, is the integral reason why this premier Inn always provides a great stay, a home from home.

I went to this hotel for a significant birthday due to its location at the side of the River Tay and the stunning views, however I was left very disappointed with the room not being what I booked, the window looking onto a wall providing very little light to the room, the fact that children were running up and down the corridor banging on doors meaning very little sleep was had. I did report this after my first night but I'm now being told by guest relations that the staff at the hotel are denying that it was reported, I was given the guest relations card and contact number by the staff member and told to contact them when I checked out and he would speak to the manager when he came in, as he was due in that day even though it was bank holiday Monday.

Bathroom floor had not been cleaned, damp in the skirting boards, flaking paint and damp on the roof and black mould in the shower, very disappointing for what was a once spotless hotel that I have stayed in many times before. Even the bin in the bathroom was rusty.
