"Run down and in need of refurb but nice staff and great views"
We have stayed here on numerous occasions throughout the past 15 or so years. It has gone downhill and is in serious need of renovation. It looks awful from outside. I have given it two stars because the staff are all lovely and friendly and the food in the restaurant is reasonably good. The place needs a total refurbishment and is overpriced for what it offers however. The views are beautiful of the harbour so hopefully the company will invest and bring this place back up to its previously great standard.

"Perfectly acceptable"
A more dated Premier Inn. But clean and tidy throughout. Large car park with ample availability. A friendly and helpful gentleman on reception.
Like an increasing number of Premier Inns, it is beginning to look little rough around the edges. An unpainted and seemingly rotting skirting board greeted me in the bathroom. The now-closed restaurant next door makes the whole area look rather neglected too.

"Old and dingy"
The whole hotel needs to be demolished and rebuilt. It's old and dingy. It's a total waste of waterfront because most rooms don't have sea view.

"Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, great location."
We stay here several times per year and we have always had great service from the staff, who are unfailingly friendly and professional.
The family rooms are spacious and clean. The decor is a bit tired however comparable to other Premier Inns across the U.K. that also haven’t had a recent refurb.
We have enjoyed the new dining menu on this visit, with several healthier options to choose from.
The location is a bonus as there are always interesting ships to see at the James Watt Dock and there is a lovely walk along the seafront. The location is convenient for Greenock, Gourock and the Clyde coast as well as the M8 into Glasgow and Central Scotland.

"Very rundown"
First impressions were really bad. Faded sign, rubbish blowing around the car park, rotting fascias, rotten window frames on restaurant, filthy carpets in corridors. The room was clean but smelt of feet. Facilities looked very battered...
The restaurant for breakfast was grim. Dirty, sticky floor and tables littered with food. The cooked breakfast was not unlimited but made to order. Waited twenty minutes for a member of staff to take our order. Went to make some toast whilst we waited- no brown bread, no pancakes, no butter, no fruit, no apple juice, no butter, no muffins. Asked staff to replenish items but only a few things were refilled. One carton of apple juice put out in the jug. It was soon gone. Cereal bowls were dirty. We did not get value for money.
Positives - staff were polite. Room was clean but this did not make up for a huge lack of investment in this hotel. Wouldn't stay here again.
