Glasgow East hotel

A Great comfortable nights stay, rooms were clean and comfortable, hotel is a bit tired and dated but a great location and friendly staff more than make up for it

Being a frequent flyer to Premier inns, felt on this one I needed to leave a review. On arrival I saw staff in the carpark doing their best in the heat clearing the carpark, they really had a thankless task with all the leaves from the trees all round. Checking in, was greeted warmly by the lady behind the counter. While her attention to detail with the customer was first class, my eyes were heavily drawn to the decor of the reception area. I don't think silicon, and lots of it, should be used to hold a light from the ceiling. It was nice to see staff checking IDs of contractors who arrived at the same time as me, made me feel secure. I find it a bit strange, bit I'm sure I heard the manager, a blonde lady, maybe Debbie? Talking to another lady about painting a fence after lunch. While I appreciate the effort the staff were putting in, surely a company like Premier Inn have a work schedule in place to do tasks. With the black bull next door has clearly had a refurb, the hotel could certainly do with a bit, or maybe more than a bit, of TLC. Maybe it's just their Donald Duck if they are on a plan for the future.

Absolutely fantastic staff, very welcoming and friendly. The building however, is in a very poor state of repair, not somewhere I would choose to stay again purely on the state of the building.

Brilliant staff - Steven managed to help me book a taxi home from the concert when I found I had no data available. Following morning the restaurant staff went out of their way despite being busy to sort me out with vegetarian bacon and sausage.

Pros: - free parking - comfy beds - clean - next door to a pub (Wetherspoons), which we were impressed with despite the negative reviews Cons: Breakfast (or the lack of it). We were really looking forward to the Premier Inn breakfast, but this was the worst breakfast service I’ve ever experienced in any hotel. There were only around five small trays of food, and they were rarely full. Whenever fresh bacon or another hot item was brought out, it disappeared within seconds. I had to ask whether more food was being prepared, but only tiny amounts were brought out each time. Looking around the dining room, I noticed many guests had plates with just one item on them because there simply wasn’t enough food available. I should have asked for a refund before eating anything and gone to the Wetherspoons next door instead. The breakfast experience was simply not acceptable and put a real dampener on what would otherwise have been a very enjoyable stay.
