Glasgow East hotel

Usual standard of hotel that you would expect from a premier inn, but the staff were top notch. Receptionist was welcoming friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The staff dealing with the breakfast service were also very good and the breakfast was well cooked, everything finished as it should be from mushrooms, through bacon sausage and eggs. The continental buffet was very well presented

Premier Inns in my experience have always been a clear step above the quality of the other main competing widespread budget chain. Not this one. This hotel gives the impression it is at least 10 years beyond its 'renovate by' date. The decor is very tired. Our ground floor room was gloomy due to shade from the narrow band of trees separating it from the busy road junction. The room has no mechanical ventilation and had a very strong unpleasant smell like sweaty socks which persisted throughout our 3 night stay. No other twin room was available. The bathroom has no fixed ventilation, with persistent damp conditions contributing to spots of mould on the ceiling and in corners, and rusting of the chromed fittings. There was a fixed overhead shower over the bath with plastic shower curtain. The light-switched extractor was the loudest I have ever heard and could not be left running at night. The bathroom had no heating. The toilet seat fixings were loose. Effective room heating was from an electric panel wall heater which clicked and rattled every time it switched on. One of the two ceiling lights switched itself off each time after a short period. This hotel was inexpensive but not a pleasant place to stay in. On the positive side, it is located outside the Glasgow Low Emission Zone (immediate £60 fine for infringement and no 'pay per day' option) and there is a bus into the city centre from 200 meters away. Part of the same building complex is a Wetherspoons pub, which served up surprisingly good dinner and breakfast (cheaper than the hotel). There is plenty of parking.

Stayed here whilst travelling to a conference for work. This premier inn did not meet my expectations of the brand. I feel the building was quite tired and the rooms also had the same vibe. The bathroom was showing its age too and had some mould and damage to walls in it. There was a lot of noise all through the night of doors banging. It was a clean bed but I did not enjoy my stay on this occasion.

For a start the front entrance and reception area needs an upgrade and is nothing like the photos. The room smelt like urine. the carpets are in need of a deep clean. The curtain was missing hooks and did not close properly. The bathroom was tired. I paid for wifi connection that was non existent.
