"Spoiled by lack of cleanliness"
Some good things about this hotel which I'll get to later but everything was spoiled by the terrible standard of cleanliness. Some horizontal surfaces had what looked like at least a week's accumulation of dirt and the carpet had obviously not been vacuumed. Reception arranged a different room but it wasn't much better. A cooling fan was so filthy it wouldn't have cleaned with a dry duster. Seriously, if you had asthma or a house dust allergy neither room would have been habitable.
As for the rest of the hotel. First, the location. Don't believe them when they tell you East Kilbride is in Glasgow. The hotel is 12 miles from Central Glasgow, 30 to 60 minutes by car and about an hour by public transport. For an overnight stop to break up a longer drive it's reasonably convenient, about 10 to 15 minutes off both the M8 and M74 motorways. There are some interesting eateries in The Village (the original East Kilbride before they built a huge town around it) about a mile from the hotel.
The immediate surroundings are not particularly attractive.
Inside it's standard Premier Inn decor.
The nearby Crooked Lum bar / restaurant has closed and there's now a bar / restaurant inside the hotel. You can often get good deals on unlimited cooked and continental breakfasts (mine was GBP11 which was very good value).
Aside from the cleanliness the room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and there was very little night-time noise. Like most hotels of this type it runs on very few staff; the ones I met in Reception and in the Breakfast Room were very friendly.

"Lovely food, great staff, spotless room"
The room was spotless, the food was fabulous, I had a steak it was delicious, my husband had mixed grill, lovely and great value! We had brilliant service, Jenna in particular was a star, so friendly, lovely girl and never stopped! Very hardworking but still had time to be pleasant, she should be promoted! We will definitely visit again when breaking our journey south,

"Excellent stay!"
My stay here was amazing. The new restaurant in the hotel was absolutely brilliant. The food was outstanding and the service we received from Kaitlyn and Gavin was top tier. I will definitely be returning!

"Very good but could have been better"
I recently stayed at the Premier Inn Central East Kilbride and came away very satisfied with the overall experience. The hotel is conveniently located, making it easy to access the town centre, nearby shops, and local amenities. Parking was straightforward, which is always a plus when travelling by car.
The hotel itself is well located, with easy access to the town centre and nearby amenities. Parking was simple and convenient, which made arrival stress-free. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was very cosy-definitely one of the highlights of the stay. The hotel was also quiet, allowing for a good night’s sleep.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, at check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient.
However, the biggest letdown was the breakfast experience. The restaurant was clearly underprepared, with several key items running out during service. This meant limited choice and a frustrating start to the day, especially when breakfast is something you expect to be reliable. It didn’t feel well managed, and no real effort was made to keep items replenished in a timely manner. Management should be ashamed of themselves and to expect the girls serving to take the heat for this mismanagement.
Overall, while the hotel itself is comfortable and conveniently located, the poor breakfast service was disappointing and would make me think twice about staying again. As I’ve stayed there quite a few times now.

"Hotel is great, staff are brilliant, just dont eat there"
The staff are great, very friendly and welcoming
However the breakfast was horrendous in the beefeater restaurant, so bad we requested a full refund for the food . the food was served cold and items on the plate were under cooked properly, the coffee machine served luke warm drinks. we had to leave the hotel to eat else where for breakfast
