"Ticked all the boxes"
Centrally located. Off site parking with discount. Large, clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of food and drink options on ground floor Ideal choice to stay in Glasgow and would happily recommend it. We used the hotel for my daughter's graduation and it was only a short walk to Strathclyde university. Ideal for families wanting to use hotel for this reason
"Loved it in the past, but things have changed"
We've stayed in this Premier Inn many times in the past, and always found the premier plus rooms to be excellent. But things have changed. First of all, there is no longer an in-person check-in desk, and you now need to check in yourself via a machine that makes everyone wait until precisely 3pm, unless you wish to pay a surcharge. This makes for a very bad experience on arrival, as every other hotel we've stayed at allows you to check in a bit early for free if the room is ready. Now there are tens of people waiting for the 3pm scramble to access the machines. And of course, most now buy a drink from the bar while they are waiting, which makes extra money for the hotel, but leaves the guests feeling cheated into buying something extra that likely hadn't planned for. Now on to the room. Premier plus rooms have always been excellent in the past, but this one (631) was very tired, and had a number of issues: no net curtains, slow draining sink, unpainted filler in the bathroom, badly repaired towel rail remounted at a jaunty angle. They have also abandoned automatic cleaning and remaking of the rooms every day. This can be requested, but I suspect that 9/10 customers won't ask for this during a short stay, and once again, it creates a bad experience for the guests. Having to go to the bar to replenish your room tea/coffee supplies makes you feel like you are in some kind of cheap holiday camp. We appreciate the times are tough for the hospitality industry, but Premier Inn has done too many things wrong for us on this occasion in terms of their policies and room quality, and unfortunately, we won't be returning.
"Just sleep over the road in a cardboard box and save yourself a few quid!"
The whole ground floor had a strong smell of bleach. The queue for check in was longer than the queue for thunder mountain in disneyland. The windows are made of clingfilm, or at least that is what it felt like whenever there was any noise outside, including the free alarm clock, consisting of the bottle bin being emptied at 5 o'clock in the morning. Following this "experience" the single night in the twin room, for the princely price of £155, has me wishing I'd paid the extra 99p for a room in the Burj Al Arab, because it can't be much more than the extortionate pricing for what you get here.
"Lovely location but poor communication"
A lovely hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast and an ideal location. But PLEASE pick up the phone! I left something behind and have called many times to try to see if it has been found, but nobody answers. Not great service I'm afraid 😞
"Disappointed"
Been to this hotel numerous times great location but the food standards have dropped. Will use somewhere else next time
