"Disgusting smell in beefeater restaurant next door."
Premier inn basic (few plug sockets and sparse furniture) but overall clean and friendly check in.
We had an awful experience at the beefeater restaurant next door for breakfast. We waited to be sat initially, whilst making eye contact with staff on a few occasions that went ignored. Because of this we assumed that we were likely being ignored because we should just find a table so we went to sit down and only then were we promptly approached by staff who snipped that we had to be checked in before sitting down.
We were then shown to our table next to the kitchen where there was an awful stench which I can only describe as hot rubbish / rotting food, at which point we chose to move tables.
We waited for another 15 -20 mins for our orders to be taken for the hot breakfast which we had prepaid for, however a new couple had arrived, were immediately greeted, were taken to the side of the restaurant that didn't smell and their breakfast order taken immediately. At which point we decided to leave since the stench had made me feel ill, worried about the hygiene of the kitchen and it looked like we weren't going to be served any time soon anyway. Absolutely so disappointed in premier inn - have never had an experience like it in any establishment.

"Superb location"
Short stay overnight before a flight.
Incredibly convenient location with free parking (just make sure to enter your registration at reception).
Staff incredibly friendly. Beds super comfy. No aircon however they have quite modern looking fans that work really well.
Hotel needs an upgrade/refurb
However the room and bathroom were spotless, however outdated.

"Dirty room restaurant service poor"
Room not clean noisy people chatting outside our window, ground floor next to reception not a good option. Restaurant service poor as the staff were more interested chatting to friends than serving customers, service very slow and inaccurate menu.

"Awful!"
Absolutely awful! Carpets, fixtures and fittings were dirty! The floors were so loud anytime you set foot on them. We had zero sleep due to movement in the room above, felt like the ceiling was going to collapse on top of us. The guests in the room below obviously had the same issue with noise of the floor, as we were disturbed by a knock at the door at 3am by staff about the noise we were making after I walked to the bathroom and back to bed! The guests below thought we were jumping up and down, when in reality it was a trip to the bathroom. The location of the hotel is very handy for edinburgh airport and that was the reason for our stay, but I cannot recommend this hotel if you want a peaceful night's sleep! I definitely would not stay here again.
