"You will not disappointed"
“Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The hotel is perfectly located, only about a 10-minute walk from the train station, with many restaurants and major attractions nearby, which made exploring the city incredibly easy and convenient.
A special thank you to Angelica, who was exceptionally kind and welcoming throughout our stay. Her friendliness and attention truly made our experience much more enjoyable and memorable.
The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was impressively quiet — we had zero noise issues and slept perfectly every night. Overall, an excellent experience, and I would definitely stay here again.”

"Basic basic basic"
It's very basic check in was easy but at no point during our stay were we approached and asked if we needed anything or had anything explained to us for example I only knew the tea and coffee was free all day in the bar area because I overheard staff telling some one else. Even if you do self check in staff should still be available to explain the layout breakfast options etc I was very disappointed with this we were only spoken too when leaving as we dropped out key card in the box.

"Go to other Hubs"
Stayed at the Premier Inn Hub and honestly wouldn’t return. When I arrived there was nobody on reception and I had to wait around 20 minutes just for someone to take my bag. Then when they finally did, I was told “we don’t have any slips,” which already felt unorganised and unprofessional.
Came back at 3pm to check in and had to wait another 15 minutes at reception just to get my luggage back. They then asked me for the ticket I was never given in the first place because apparently they “had none left.” I was taken over to security and if the staff member who originally dealt with me hadn’t recognised me, I probably would’ve been interrogated over my own luggage.
The room itself was mediocre at best. The TV barely worked, so good thing I brought my laptop. The WiFi was also painfully slow and unreliable.
I didn’t even bother paying for breakfast because after the way they handled something as basic as luggage, I didn’t exactly trust them to manage food service properly either.
On my second day, the 16th, I also stood waiting at the bar for around 10 minutes while staff were loudly talking in the back and completely ignoring the front desk/bar area. The customer service throughout the stay was honestly poor from start to finish.
When collecting my bag before leaving, I also found the staff rude. I wasn’t politely asked to follow them, I was just abruptly told “follow.” It came across as unnecessarily dismissive and unfriendly.
To top it off, the public toilets were disgusting dirty and smelling strongly of urine. Overall the entire stay felt disorganised, unclean, and badly managed.

"Dirty and a fire hazard"
I'm usually a fan of Hub hotels. This one, however, is grim.
The first room I was allocated was filthy. The carpet was heavily stained, as was the chair. The bed frame was visible dirty with crusty dirt in the cracks and crevices. And the bathroom stank like a gent's toilet and was covered in mould. There were also cracked and loose floor tiles.
I immediately complained and was allocated a different room which was better but still not great. The shower was still mouldy, the carpet was still stained, the chair was still filthy looking. But hey, it was better than the first option.
The staff were mixed. The guy who checked me in and sorted my room change was obviously being trained - which is fine. But not a single smile, welcome, hello etc. was given. Premier Inn would be wise to train their staff on basic communication skills before getting them trained up on the front desk.
The guy who was training him was pleasant and very helpful though, as were a couple of other members of staff.
One of the lifts was out of action and the one that worked looked worn out with ripped flooring.
However, what pushed this over the edge from poor to terrible was the fact that for the three consecutive days I was at the hotel two fire doors between reception and the lift lobby were continually propped open. I hate to be that person but fire doors are there for a reason and they categorically should not be propped open for an extended period. When I arrived I assumed someone had perhaps propped them open for a quick minute while moving things around or a guest had done this. However it became apparent that propped open fire doors was something hotel management were happy with and practiced habitually. It's totally unacceptable.
I won't be booking this hotel again, unfortunately, despite its really handy location. It needs a deep clean and some better oversight of customer service, housekeeping and safety standards.
