"Royal mile hotel"
Close to Royal Mile and other attractions however concierce service is not 24 hours and room is still small even if i booked a bigger room…cant imagine what a small room would look like over all its ok but not that great there are lots of cheaper hotels nearby
"Flooded shower, not a relaxing experience."
Check in was straightforward. Room ok, could do with new carpet as it looked well used, with signs of old water marks beside door of shower room and along that wall to bed. Room amenities, has what is needed for an overnight stay, simplistic. Towel rail fell off when I lifted the towel from it. Some basic repairs and care needed. Shower room flooded; water flowed onto carpet in the bedroom; clear signs on carpet of much older water marks as above . This did not make for a relaxing start to my day as I had to spend quite a lot of time mopping up the water. I was not able to enjoy the breakfast I had paid for (ended up just having to take a couple of items away with me as I was now running very late for my day ahead. I informed staff (check in & cleaning staff) of the problem - response was simply to clarify they'd inform maintenance and likely blocked drain) ... I'd already worked that bit out!!! I have since sent an email to the Hotel. No response received which feels rather unsatisfactory. Overall, disappointed especially given the cost of the room and poor customer experience on this occasion. Photos taken after spending a lot of time mopping up a large volume of water. Review may be duplicate as previous one does not seem to have uploaded.
"Pleasant stay"
Great room, paid £217 which was way over priced for the room but was clean and comfortable just not as cheap as it used to be I guess
"Just okay"
Location excellent, central. Nice street and exterior. Pleasant staff. Speedy check in. Good breakfast. Good shower. Comfy bed. No kettle in room, would prefer if there was. Needed thinner duvet, it was August. Room too warm especially at night. Television switched off by itself several times. Massive price hike because of Edinburgh festival. Although I chose to pay to this I am not entirely in agreement with hotels doing this. Overall okay, but I've had better premier inn stays.
"Edinburgh fringe visit"
Excellent location from the train station, this hotel was a great stay for a couple of nights when visiting the Edinburgh Fringe. The accessibility of the room and restaurant were excellent and staff were friendly and helpful.
