"Excellent location and handy for trains, restaurants etc"
Excellent location within walking distance of train station and handy for theatres, restaurants etc. we were attending a concert at the castle so it was ideal for an overnight stay. Expensive despite being booked several months in advance (£150 for a double) but Edinburgh is generally expensive to stay in. Continental breakfast was £6 per head which was good value. Room was compact but very clean and the bed/pillows the usual standard expected in a Premier Inn. Building works were going on during our stay but I had received an email a couple of days before my stay to advise of this. It didn’t bother us as we weren’t there during the day.
"Okay for a base. Comfortable bed"
I spent one night here. Rather expensive but that's to be expected given the location. The room was small but adequate. Nicely air conditioned but the air conditioning unit was annoyingly noisy, though it didn't affect my sleep. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice.
"Recommended"
Great base hotel, staff are friendly, food is okay. I would stay again while on a business trip. Thank you for a great stay
"Not cheap and not good at following up issue"
The hotel is in a convenient location, not far from the train station. Outside of the hotel is being refurbished, and it’s easy to miss the entrance from the street. We checked in through the check-in kiosk which is quick. The room is really small, and without window, felt like those tiny hotel room in Tokyo. The shower room was not big. The socket at the end of the bed was not working, and the reception said someone would come to have a look at it, but at the end of the day no one turn up, which is disappointing.
"Great location, but woefully unpleasant hotel experience"
Uber was unable to find the Hotel location. Dropped us off 'close' which had no entrance on Princes street, and no instructions were to find the entrance in any booking correspondence. Mistakenly entered the Premier Inn, but was directed to the Hub's location 2 blocks over. From the time we got dropped off, until we got to the Hub Hotel, we walked around in the rain for more than an hour. When trying to self-check-in, the kiosk failed to issue room keys. We had to wait for a person to show up to sort it out, and get us a room and keys. Woefully small, not enough room for 2 adults and 2 carry-on suitcases. Unable to walk pass the other person without someone sitting on the bed. You have to crawl over your partner to get out of bed, if you're the first to wake. No room to do any kind of morning or evening stretches. We enjoyed Edinburgh, but it was a relief to leave so that we could be more comfortable when it was time to get off our feet at the end of the day.
