"Great place to stay"
Great hotel in great location for city sights and transport links. Lovely comfortable beds and well presented clean rooms. Good breakfast and friendly staff.
"First stay at a hub"
The room was small and very overpriced. The bathroom is a glass box with a gap at the side of the door which means you can hear everything and gives no privacy. If you want the room cleaning or new towels you have to physically go down to reception to ask, even though there is an option on the headboard to request your room cleaning. I did request the room to be cleaned and new towels and the person who took the request wrote the wrong room number down so it didn't get done. I had to go down to reception and get a bit annoyed before they agreed to come and do it. It wasn't done very well. On the upside, the room was very quiet and the hub is in a good position, close to everything.
"Great!"
Last visit in January but have stayed here a couple of times. Really easy checking in process, we’ve always ended up doing this with a staff member however they have screens for an easy experience. Very clean rooms, perfect for a short stay. No rooms have windows that can be opened, which is the only reason i’d say it’s best for a shorter stay as when warm/after a shower it can get a bit stuffy. It’s really perfect for what it is, comfortable bed, clean, tv, wardrobe space, large shower and light controls from the bed which is a very cool addition. Only tiny issue is not having a place to hang towels in the bathroom. (I can’t be sure if this is in every room). Staff have been consistently lovely whenever I have visited, and the bar area downstairs is also great, with complementary tea and coffee. One visit we did get a free upgrade and could check in early which was a lovely surprise and made our stay seamless. They have a storage room where you can put bags etc pre check in/post check out which is really helpful. Overall great place, very good location too, in the centre and really easy access to trams, buses and the train.
"Only downside was the price"
We stayed for the Oasis concert & paid a ridiculous inflated price, however this was on par with all the other hotels in Edinburgh. We’d paid for early check-in which was luckily honoured. We’d booked a bigger room and were pleasantly surprised by the size and comfort of the room. Everything was clean & the air on worked well. Didn’t eat there so can’t comment on that. It’s a pain having to go downstairs in the morning to fetch tea/coffee, not really sure why they can’t provide this in room, especially for bigger rooms where there’s room. The staff were lovely, especially the lady that checked us in..5 stars for her. Would stay here again, especially if visiting Murrayfield as it was an easy 20min walk.
"Ripped off indeed !"
Paid £385 for a tiny room for oasis concert .. and this is the state of the carpets … absolute disgrace. How do they get away with it !?
