Edinburgh (South Queensferry) hotel

Good location for Edinburgh if you don't want to be in the city and are using the hotel as a stopping off point before travelling further north as we were. Clean hotel but don't expect to get a drink in the attached bar/ restaurant after 9pm as it shuts early.

We had a great stay at the Premier Inn South Queensferry. The staff found a place to keep our luggage for us until check in time even the hotel does not offer luggage storage. They were also helpful with directions for busses, etc. The restaurant offered great specials every night and the food was excellent. It had an atmosphere of a neighbourhood pub with lots of locals dining every night. The hotel is very quiet. It is situated within walking distance of three grocery stores, Starbucks and right next door to MacDonalds. The bus stops a very short distance away that goes into Edinburgh. The ride is a bit long but scenery is beautiful. Or you can take the tram. There is also a bus that goes directly to the airport from the same bus stop. It is considerably cheaper than a taxi. It is a short walk to the village which is very charming with lots of quaint old buildings. You can view the three bridges from the docks along the water. We highly recommend this hotel for value and the area it is situated in.

I had a lovely time at this hotel. Carrie the Housekeeper/Manager was brilliant helped me so much.The room was very clean. Only thing which was not so good and that is no fault of Premier Inn was the evening meal the steak I had was very tough and I could only eat about half. Breakfast the next morning was delicious .

I left my iPad in my room after I checked out. I rang reception. So grateful to Kelly who ran upstairs and found it. So reassuring to know it had been found and was safe. I was able to drive back and get it.

Arrived at 4 am. Had advised hotel in advance. Receptionist kind and professional. Comfortable bed quiet room. Choice of pillows. Glad of 12 o clock check out.
