"Disappointment"
Unfortunately, my husband and I had a very disappointing stay. We were there to celebrate my husband’s 30th birthday, and he got no recognition of that. I even made a point of telling the man who was on the front desk, and he didn’t even wish my husband a happy 30th birthday. I was in contact with a customer service staff member called Jade back in March, letting her know about our special occasion and asking if the hotel would do anything extra to celebrate. She took all my details and told me the hotel would accommodate this occasion as best as possible, so you can imagine our disappointment when my husband received absolutely no congratulatory gestures on this special birthday.
On top of this disappointment, our room was absolutely filthy. So filthy, that we had to ask a member of staff if we could move to a different room because it was so dirty. The staff member first told us this wouldn’t be possible as the hotel was “fully booked”, but then went and inspected our room, then moved us to a smaller room. We were confused as to why he told us the hotel was “fully booked” in the first place, and he didn’t even offer us an apology for the filth of the room, and for the hassle of having to move. Other hotels usually offer something complementary as a way of apologising for things like this, but we didn’t even receive an apology.
What was supposed to be a very special occasion for my husband turned out to be a disappointment regarding the accommodation side of things. We even tried to book into another hotel nearby, but they were all fully booked. This has been the first time in our lived where we have been happy to leave a hotel room.

"Pretty good. Would stay again."
Wonderful location and clean hotel/rooms. Pillows were lacking, but I suppose that is a personal preference issue.
Check in was a little rough - the kiosks were out of order, but there was not a sign on them so guests kept arriving and trying to check in only to be frustrated.
They let us store our bags when we arrived early which was convenient. Would stay again.

"Nice easy location for sightseeing"
This premier inn is very close to all the amenities and sights of Edinburgh. A short walk from Waverley bridge and station.
The on site restaurant, Thyme, had a good selection of meals reasonably priced. We booked the meal deal of breakfast and evening meal, which is great value. Breakfast was plentiful and was kept well stocked up the whole time. Breakfast was busy as they usually are. Tables were cleaned quickly.

"Not worth the price"
I stayed at this hotel for two nights. The price (over €300 a night) versus the service was terrible. The breakfast was absolutely the worst I've ever had in a hotel: not even in an abandoned hostel have I seen such a miserable breakfast: there were just defrosted croissants, a yogurt, packaged jams, and that was it. The cleanliness was only average. I had paid for early check-in, but it was denied, and I had to insist on a refund. The list of amenities is nonexistent. They hide behind the claim that "it's a budget hotel," but if €300 a night is the standard for a budget hotel, something's wrong.

"Mediocre"
Hotel Location is good. There was no noise.
Not too crowded, and within walking distance of railway and tourist sights.
There is not much of a staff on the hotel, only rarely. And the bell for calling on them did not work. The sign said go to the bar and ask, but the bar was mostly empty....
Bath was damp and slightly smelly. There was not much ventilation going on.
You get a place to stay, and its not very expensive. A lot in Edinburgh is mediocre and overpriced, you will see. I tried a lot of restaurants with rating above 4.5 on Google maps, and it was not worth it. Try getting out of city centre to get a different experience. I went to Botanical Garden and ended up in a tiny pub close by afterwards, (st bernards bar), that was nice.
However, most Scots in Edinburgh are very friendly and easy to understand.
And Edinburgh is surely much nicer than Glasgow or Aberdeen.
