"Don't let the location of the hotel put you off staying here. It has great transport links."
I've personally stayed in this hotel many times and can't fault it. This time was the best, if only for the view from the room and proximity to the lift and foyer. It's comfortable and exceptionally clean. Although not in the centre of Edinburgh, the hotel has good links with the city. We chose to take a bus from Aberdeen which took us to George St. A short walk across St Andrew's Square and a speedy tram took us pretty close to the hotel. (We chose the tram many times because of the quickness, but there's also a bus stop closer to the hotel). The tram goes all the way to the airport and past the 2 main stations in Edinburgh, so great transport links. The only negative things I could say is that the bath has very high sides and no rubber mat inside, which is not ideal and a cooked breakfast is the better option if you want value for money. We chose to eat out most of the time because we know the area so well.
    "Slight problem Jasmine solved"
We had a slight problem which made it very difficult for us to get to our disabled room. Jasmine went out on her way to solve the problem for us without standing customer service. Hotel itself is lovely and the staff are even better. So if you're disabled, perhaps give them a ring to sort out your room before you arrive, but the staff are willing to help as much as they can.
    "Premier Plus Room"
I’ve been disappointed with the last few premier inn’s I’ve stopped in so it’s refreshing to find one on the top of its game so to speak. First I should point out that I did upgrade to a premier plus room which in my opinion is always worth the money just so you can have plug sockets on your bedside table to charge your phone. The room was spotless, bed comfortable and shower fantastic, great WiFi It’s a two minute walk to Newhaven tram stop that will take you into the middle of Edinburgh. Location is beautiful with some decent restaurants around it. Useless bit of info but if you’re a Phil Rosenthal of Somebody feed Phil fame then he filmed some of the Edinburgh scenes at the restaurant in the bay outside.
    "Overall a Premier Stay"
Bed was comfortable after getting used to it, the breakfast was always delicious the 3 nights I stayed there, parking was cheaper than I thought and there were many nearby options for public transport making getting into the city easy. Nice location too, right on the waterfront. Weather was lovely during my stay in August.
    "Excellent Hotel in Edinburgh"
Our stay at the Premier Inn on Leith Waterfront was excellent from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were a huge help, giving us detailed directions to the trams and advice on their schedule, which was a massive bonus. The location is perfect, right on the waterfront, and the car park was surprisingly cheap for Edinburgh. The only minor hiccup was at breakfast, where we waited for about ten minutes to be seated and eventually found a table ourselves. That said, it was a very small issue in an otherwise perfect stay. After a disappointing experience at another hotel, this one was a breath of fresh air. We'll be booking here for all our future trips to Edinburgh.
