"Lovely stay, easy bus ride into old/new town."
My Mum and I stayed here for 2 nights and after reading some negative reviews just before arriving, I felt anxious about our stay. I needn’t of worried. The staff on the front desk were very friendly and helpful, as were everyone we came across in Edinburgh. Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot. We didn’t eat at the beefeater attached but we had drinks there, and again the staff were helpful and friendly. The Esso garage with a Tesco express which was next door was very useful and the bus stop for an easy 15 ride into the city centre was right outside ( bus 4 or 44, get off at the stop called Waterloo place for the old town)
I recommend walking down into Portobello beach area, it’s about 30 mins easy, flat walk and the beach 🏖️ is lovely , with lovely cafes and food kiosks.

"noisey... cleaning not thorough."
location great. noisey due to traffic and humming noise from bathroom even when everything off. scum/bacteria on bath overflow unfortunatly didn't notice until was in the bath.
paid far too much for this and offered no compensation...directed to go online.
no.e.mail given to make complaint.
will not return there.

"Convenient location but dirty hotel"
We tend to book premier inn for city breaks as you know what to expect. Unfortunately, this premier inn is the worst I’ve stayed in and nothing like you would expect normally. The building isn’t in good condition, with dirt and peeling paint in communal areas. The rooms are worse - significant dust build up around all the edges of the rooms, peeling paint, dirt and just generally really run down. The beds were sagging, we were only provided with one towel for two people in a room and staff were no where to be found throughout stay. The restaurant seemed to be more of the same. They weren’t providing hot food due to staff illness, but staff there are disinterested and the restaurant is also rundown and dirty.
On a positive, the location is great, parking is £3.50 a day and the member of staff who checked us in was friendly.

"Good value for money, great location"
We stayed for 4 nights while exploring Edinburgh and Portobello so just needed a cheap and cheerful base to rest our heads and that's exactly what we got. Location was ideal with a major bus route to the city right outside and walkable into Portobello and Holyrood Park. The room was spacious and clean, staff were helpful and the breakfast was good quality and great value. I've given 4 stars instead of 5 as the hotel communal areas are quite tired and need a refresh and because there was no catch up TV functions in the room which for a family room seems a strange omission. Would give 4.5 if I could. Would happily stay here again.
