"Noisy"
A last minute need need for a hotel. Incredibly expensive for a Premier Inn, certainly the time of year in which all hotels are profiteering. No doubt they will change their minds later in the year.
Cost aside the attached pub was closed the evening of check in. As others have said the hotel is rather tired. Parking was difficult due to vans and lorries parked everywhere blocking parking bays.
My room was immediately above an extractor fan which did not stop making noise all day and all night. Hardly a goods night sleep.

"Below Par Premier Inn"
Overall
The hotel was dated and dark, and the overall service and quality was not what you would expect from a Premier Inn.
The Good
1. The positives were the the usual Premier Inn characteristiccs- good value and a comfortable bed with breakfast and food available.
2. The location is a bit far out from the centre but on bus routes. It was handy to Holyrood.
3. Breakfast was standard, and the range of food was good. The service was pretty good there, and efficient.
The Bad.
1. The hotel was obviously converted and was very dated and dark. The respection area was pretty depressing, and check-in took a while. Getting a response from reception was not helped by a broken buzzer.
2. The rooms were also dark and not as good as manu other Premier Inns.
3. Some of the breakfast items were not great- especially the bacon. The bar was also very dated.

"Average stay"
The hotel is clearly one of the older in the estate. It is fine but the attached restaurant is tired and fine for breakfast but distinctly average for dinner.

"Think twice"
This Premier Inn sadly was the worst experience I've had to date with this brand.
Location wise it's spot on, public transport, taxis availability is great, parking on site is a plus for the area (not free).
Sadly so much else let it down.
1st room issued stunk of damp, when window was opened to try freshen it, I was greeted to cigarette smoke (designated smoking area is right by the window - needs relocated for customer comfort).
Reception staff found us another room which was better, but not great.
Room was like a sauna the entire stay, no air con, only a portable fan and a small window to open.
Tried to pay for my stays parking at the honoured price and staff were unable to process it, issues with the code and system. Lucky for me I was given free parking but I'm expecting it to bite me later on with fines as I'm not confident it has been processed right.
Restaurant closed on 1st nights stay due to no staff available, not a good advert for the hotel but going by the standard of the breakfast was probably a lucky escape.
Breakfast was bang average at best, sadly not what I've experienced at other Premier Inn's.
Hotel is so tired, needs some proper investment to drag it up to the standard of other Premier Inn's.
Feel sorry for the staff trying to maintain it, hopefully it will receive the investment it requires so they can be proud of it.

"Not at all up to standard for a Premier Inn"
Hotel is in desperate need of an update. Torn nets on the windows and dirty, stained curtains.
Shower curtain rail had been pulled away so was not working and about to fall off completely.
Corners of the bathroom were really dirty.
Tv positioned on the side of the room, making it really uncomfortable to watch tv in bed.
Breakfast was very average with cheap bread, and a dark dingy restaurant area .
Would definitely not recommend.
